Life with psoriasis sucks
Okay so what I hate the most about living with psoriasis is having people telling me that it’s nothing, it’s like acne, everybody has imperfections, just live your life and stop focusing on it it will eventually go away.. like what ?? No! You don’t get it!
I have to live with something that will never be cured, that’s itchy, bleeds when I scratch it, covers 90% of my body, may fuck up my entire body cause it’s autoimmune, aND people stare at me, make me feel uncomfortable, ask me weird questions about it and PERSIST even though I make it clear that I don’t wanna talk about it !! Like smh 🤦🏻♀️ go away bitch you know nothing so don’t come here starting to preach when you don’t even HAVE psoriasis!
Bref..
I hate winter. My skin burns. If I could I would voluntarily flay my own skin off. Sometimes the moisturisers make it feel like I'm being stabbed with a bajillion burning needles on every affected part. The burn. The itch. I wanna take off my skin. I wanna peel off the afflicted parts and burn them on a bonfire.
I don’t care if it's gross. If I could I seriously would. The bloody fucking flakes make me want to burn down buildings. Misdiagnosis suck ass. Wrong meds that make it worse suck ass. The stupid fucking symptoms suck fucking arse in Hell.
The itch the burn the pain the stiffness.
What is psoriasis?
For all you people out there who are a bit unsure or completely unaware of what psoriasis is, here have a read!
“Psoriasis is a common skin condition that changes the life cycle of skin cells. Psoriasis causes cells to build up rapidly on the surface of the skin. The extra skin cells form thick, silvery scales and itchy, dry, red patches that are sometimes painful.
Psoriasis is a persistent, long-lasting (chronic) disease. There may be times when your psoriasis symptoms get better alternating with times your psoriasis worsens.” - Mayo Clinic
Personally speaking my psoriasis arised as an auto-immune disease brought on by stress. I also suffer from psoriatic arthritis and have developed mental issues, due to the complications. However, from today 04/05/15 I’m vowing to tackle this condition and control it as much as physically possible through lifestyle change.
what a silly day today has been!
my knees have been so so painful / achey recently. it brought me to tears last eve so i decided to head to the walk in centre today.
the woman i saw was rude and dismissive, and her only advice was 'see your GP' - i also have noted small patches of what appear to be eczma / dry skin but in small circular shapes. i noted that slowly more appeared and asked her about this too. she gave me no explanation and just fobbed me off with another cream to try (i've tried steroid cream, sudacrem, emollients, fragrance free moisturiser, you name it). Her response to the knee pain was 'there's nothing else i can give you' which i know is bullshit - i'm supposed to just suffer this?
after this i went and bought some ibuleve cream and have just applied my first lot so let's see if this eases it up anymore, although i'm doubtful.
going to go see a GP at my surgery tomorrow. fingers crossed!
i'd be interested to know if anyone else had suffered from similar skin complaints though, as i currently have no answers for this!

I'm just kinda curious, now: Reblog this if you have psoriasis or a skin condition similar to it
