Goldstar isn't that special on her own but she her family does have some lore.
Her mother and her aunt were both leaders at one point. Her aunt, Sundawn/Sunstar was kinda evil and took over her clan CresentClan. Gold's mother, Moondove ran away to the nearby Saltclan and lived there for awhile while she thought of a way to take her sister down. She had Goldsun in that time with the healer that originally took her in
When Gold was newly an apprentice, Sunstar waged war on Saltclan. Here Moon was able to take almost all of Sun's lives, Goldpaw taking her final one.
Sunstar never named an official deputy and Saltclan's leader was very old an frail. Oncestar, the leader, decided to merge the two clans and name Moondove as the leader.
Eclipseclan believes in passing down role through generations. So when Moonstar died her role passed on to her young daughter Goldstar

I wanted to share with you the other clans. I think I might make a bonus comic where Kindle meets the leaders at a gathering or something like that :)

Leader - Rowanstar
A large portion of the forest area. The cats in this clan used to be split into two clan that shared the forest, AspenClan and EvergreenClan, but they dispersed after the fire. They used to fight alot.
Act like a basic clan.
NewClan
Leader - Honeystar
Camp is an abandoned human cottage near a river. These cats also came from AspenClan and EvergreenClan.
Leaders and their families sorta get special treatment alot of the time. They also believe in arranged marriages, especially with leader kits.
WebClan
Leader - Casperstar
Oldest clan. They take up the marshlands up north. Kinda mysterious.
Casper is the oldest leader of all the clans though he doesn't look it. They've had the same leader since they were formed and they follow him blindly. Alot of their special customs are unknown and they usually keep to themselves.
EclipseClan
Leader - Goldstar
Take up the mountains and beach. Used to be two clans, CresentClan and SaltClan, before they merged when Rowanstar was still a kit.
They believe in passing roles. The leaders title is passed down generational, along with medics.
Rouges
Rouges aren't a clan and don't have a leader but there are a few special rouges I'm gonna talk about here
Seers - Oracle and his daughter, Meadow
Seers are cats that see. Kinda like med cats, they have a stronger connection to StarClan. They can predict the future and read fortune. They also kind act like a moonstone or moonpool, the healers go seek them out for visions and stuff, and leaders are granted their nine lives with them.
They're nomadic so they don't live in one place and they don't belong to any clan so they're happy to help all. A seer could be any cat really but this ability is passed down through blood.
Healers in this have less abilities because of this. Any cat can sense ghosts, only seers can see ghosts.

Root au lore and original undercut
First off, if Root was in my story Hymnclan would be the 5th clan and would take up a small 3rd of the forest area. And I think Hymnclan was wiped out by a disease? If I remember correctly. But I think it would fit better if it was wiped out by the forest fire that devastated the clans
AU 1: Root is adopted by Eclipseclan's leader, Goldstar.
While on her way to check on her fellow clans after the fire, she discovers the remains of Hymnclan and a tiny kit hidden herself in a bush. Goldstar realizing her efforts to help her fellow clans was in vain, she decided to take the kit back to Eclipseclan, a beach and mountain clan.
In Eclipseclan roles are passed down generationally. Meaning Root as Goldstar's kit would be in line to be the next leader after she dies. Though Root doesn't want this, she wants to become a healer to help her clan. But she's stuck to train under her mother gor a role she's not ready for.
Since she was small she would have nightmares of her old clan. Ghosts visit her in her sleep and even while she's awake. She yearns to go back and visit just once to make them stop, but the task seems impossible. Not only is the forest on the other side of the territories, but she can't even tell her mother why she wants to. Seeing the dead is something only Seers do, her mother would never believe her.
Root then becomes Rootdusk, named after Goldstar's mom and aunt (Moondove and Sundawn) and becomes deputy automatically. Set to inherit her mother's leadership.
AU 2: Root is adopted by the Seer, Oracle.
Oracle and his kit daughter, Meadow are on their way to the gathering in the center of the clans. They pass through Hymnclan which is eerily empty except for the small mewing of a kitten. The two discover Rootkit.
Oracle at first doesn't know what to do. Take her to the gathering for someone else to claim or take her home to raise. He immediately thinks the gathering is the right way to go, but Meadow convinces him otherwise. She always wanted a older sister (Root would be a moon or 2 older).
Oracle is not a fan of strangers, especially clan cats, but as Root grows older he discovers her ability to see ghosts. Making Root a Seer aswell.
So Root and Meadow grow up as siblings, both fairly similar abilities to see and talk to the dead i think. Oracle is their father and mentor raising them to be Seers like him. Though he has a tendency to overwork the two
But I think all and all Root would be happy here, she'd be able to better understand her connection to Starclan and see her family whenever she wanted really. She'd be loved and grow up with a little sister. They would be close and I bet Root would help Meadow with her blindness and her secret love affair with a clan cat
Root would never adopt a clan name as the Seers are rouges so she'd probably just keep the name Root, or maybe Oracle would change it completely to something like Reed or River? Idk
Anyway that's it. I just thought these two aus were too interesting not to think about
