World building:

Hundreds of years ago during the Great Human and Monster War two heroes from apposing sides came together to stop the war. As the legend goes the two made a great sacrifice, the human giving their body, the monster giving their magic, along with parts of their souls, and created a new species; a Darkner. The three Legendary Heroes then worked together and put an end to the Great War, issuing in a new era of Peace for all kinds on the surface.

Darkners are beings of Determination and Magic, a merger of the strengths of the two races. They get the name "Darkner" from being a race founded during the Darkest of Times, though many believe they are also made from Darkness and look down upon them from this belief, seeing them as Unholy/Demonic as they were not original creations of The Angel.

All original Darkners were Made, and they can STILL be made from any object, a little bit of human blood, and a touch of Monster Magic. The "parts of their soul" bit is mostly an exaggeration, it just means putting purpose behind the Darkner's creation. For example the Original Darkner from legend was made to peacefully stop the war. (In my head btw the original Darkner is Ralsei, but that's not really important)

Likewise, Darkners can also be Born like any other living thing. For fun this world doesn't have half-breeds when it comes to inter-spaces children, and instead works in a circle; A Human and a Monster will have a Darkner Child, a Monster and a Darkner will have a Human Child, and a Darkner and a Human will have a Monster Child.

Though this may come with some complications as all three species reproduce differently, and operate by different rules. They are as Follows:

Humans must be incubated in a Womb or Egg, so sexless species of Monsters and Darkners (Such as Ghosts or Addisons) cannot have Human Children without physical altercations to their body.

Monster parents who carry their human children tend to suffer from DT Sickness, severity varies, in most cases while carrying the child the Monster may struggle to maintain their physical form, find themselves sticking to things and other monsters, and may struggle to give up on projects or rest. These symptoms tend to lesson after the child is born.

When engaging sexually with a human there is a Percentage chance of one of the parties involved to walk away pregnant. There are methods to lower these chances, of course, but it is Never 0%

Monsters are Incubated within the Soul, their Soul grows within their parents, and they only gain a physical body after being born. They live off of Magic while incubating, because of this most Monster Children born from Human Parents may come out sickly, weak, or deformed due to a lack of magic during development

Monsters reproduce through the soul as well, and Cannot have children without will do to so. For a Monster to become pregnant they must want to. A Monster's Sex does not determine their ability to become pregnant.

Darkners will manifest as their soul object within the parent and can form anywhere in the body, like a cancerous cell. Once an object is formed it is usually safe to have removed, though the Darkner may not take full form right away, and will remain in status until they themselves feel the time is right. During the incubation process parents of Darkners are encouraged to keep their child's object close, to engage with them as one would any other new born baby, as this as shown to speed up the formation process and leads to happier and healthier Darkner Children

It is possible to go quiet some time without noticing a Darkner has formed within you, especially if they have formed as a small object. No one is really sure what happens to a Darkner if they are not removed from their parent before they form. Some say the Darkness within the host consumes them and they become something else entirely. There are very few records of live birthed Darkners

No one is entirely sure on the Exact science behind what causes a Darkner Pregnancy, some say a Darkner will only form within their parent when they would truly belong, some say it is much like when a Darkner child takes form and only the child themselves decides when to be born and who to. Some believe it comes from the Darkness within, when one is at their lowest or when the parent needs them the most a Darkner will come to them. None of these concepts have much if any scientific backing.

As mentioned previously Darkners can also be Made through a simple ritual. A made Darkner can form at any life stage, and will typically know their own name and age upon forming. They may also have preloaded bonds to those around them, especially though who form them, depending on the purpose they were formed for.

Speaking of purpose, while all Darkners have them as it is what drives them to form a physical form around their soul object in the first place, a made Darkner's purpose will usually have much more weight to it than a born Darkner's, and if one feels they are not fulfilling their purpose or working towards it, their physical health may suffer. Symptoms include stiffness in mussels and joints, a loss of mobility in extremities, a loss of color in skin, and in extreme cases, petrification.

Humans experience a similar decay in physical health when they loose their Drive or "Determination". Symptoms usually include a dulling of the Soul's vibrancy, feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness, a lack of motivation or agency, loss of appetite, self isolation, and physical exhaustion without physical cause.

Speaking of Souls, they work virtually the same as originally described in Undertale;

Humans have strong Souls that will be a specific color depending on ones Drive, ones Strength and Desire to Proceed. A Humans soul may change color or dull in vibrancy as they age, some humans even have mixed soul colors. The full range of human Soul Colors is unknown as of now.

Monsters have weaker Souls that work by Intention, a monster cannot be harmed unless the one attempting to harm them desires to do so all the way to their soul. Monsters are much more connected to their Soul, as their bodies are fully reliant on it to persist and maintain their form.

Darkners don't have Souls, instead the Object they originally formed as will act as their Soul, usually hiding it somewhere within their physical form, though not always. Some Darkners soul object is too big to hide Within their form and will instead act as part of it, for some Monsters this is terribly indecent and may play into some people's belief that Darkners are inherently impure or lesser.

Characters:

So obviously the idea is all Deltarune and Undertale Characters can be included in this AU, and I have a lotta thoughts about what MOST of them are doing, but for the sake of my hands, I drew the most important and leave the rest to your imagination.

Also, this is first and foremost as Self Insert AU, so if YOU, reader reading this right now, have an Undertale or Deltarune Self Insert I am HIGHLY encouraging you to take this AU and play with it as you like, put yourself in there, be as silly and fun with it as you'd like, go wild and crazy and have a good time. December "Dess" Holiday and Asriel "Azzy" Dreemurr

The eldest children of the Dreemurr/Holidays, they're practically siblings and have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Dess is older than Asriel by 9 months

They are currently rooming together in the dorms at Collage, despite the Campus only being only a 35 minute drive from Hometown

They spend pretty much all their spare time together, the only time they're separated is during class, when Asriel has work, or when Dess is at Band Practice

Dess is currently studying Astrophysics and Cosmology, Asriel is majoring in Game design and minoring in Business along side working part time in his father's Flower Shop

Dess is not adopted. They were born of their father Rudy and his friend Gaster. Gaster was never a "Father" to Dess, but he wasn't absent from their life either; He's actually the majority of their fascination with space, and why they're currently taking his physic class at university

Neither of them are aware their friends, Emile and Battat, currently have the hots for their recently divorced uncles

Emile Swatch (My Self Insert)

The youngest and only human child of his family, Emile was born and raised in the outskirts of Cyber City to a pair of absentee parents. He and his 7 older siblings all practically raised themselves and eachother

Emile's the only one in his friend group with a Car, which is an old beat-up four-seater his sibling passed down to him when they got something better. Though Asriel is the one who drives it most often, taking himself and Battat to their jobs back in Hometown

The car is junk and is in need of a LOT of repairs, so Emile takes it to the local Auto Body/Dealership, Bigshot Autos, often to get it repaired. He also goes because he has a VERY big crush on the shop's owner and only employee, Spamton

He laments about his crush to his roommate and best friend Battat pretty much every chance he gets, and Battat does the same for his crush on his boss at his part-time position

He and Battat are both very physically affectionate, commonly seen cuddling while sat near eachother. This is mostly due to the way they were raised, as both Swatches and Pippins are very tactile species

Sense he's the only one in the group legally able, Dess and Battat constantly rope Emile into buying alcohol and Weed for them. They always pay him back of course

Emile is an Art Major and currently struggling to find a part-time job

Battat Pippins

An only child, but raised communally among his many cousins, his parents moved around a lot through his childhood. He met Emile for a time at the age someone would be in Middle School (he was "home schooled") before moving again, the two managed to keep in touch over the years and eventually met up again at Collage

Battat works part time at a small News Studio in Hometown as an Assistant. Basically just a coffee guy

He considers the Studio his Side Gig, as his main project is his YouTube channel where he calls himself a "Paranormal Investigator". Most of his videos are recordings of abandoned buildings with his theorising on what happened over top of it

He's roped his co-works, Pluey and Jongler, into helping him with his channel recently and they both rather enjoy it

Battat is massively down bad for Tenna and really only stays working at the Studio for the very very slight chance he might get to hit just once

Ant Tenna Dreemurr

Made by Asgore during his childhood on accident, Tenna took on the roll of Asgore's elder brother, despite their parents disagreement

His Purpose is Family, being a good brother to Asgore, a good child to his parents (though they never accepted him), a good uncle to his niblings, a good husband to his spouse, etc.

In an effort to pursue his purpose Tenna married young to his high school sweetheart, Spamton. The two had a shotgun wedding, and immediately moved to the big city in pursuit of bigger and better things

For years they were fine, Great even! Tenna quickly rose up the ranks at the Studio he'd begun working at and was soon on television screens across the nation, co-hosting the news and assisting in game shows, and eventually getting his own permanent spot light as a Daytime Talk Show Host

However, as great as his career was, Tenna found his pursuit of his Purpose lacking, especially after Dess and Asriel were born, being so far away from his family and rarely seeing them was one issue, but another was... He wanted that for himself. Family, Children.

He and Spamton on again off again argued the point for years, Spamton making claims they were JUST making it big, that kids were just Money sinks, that they'd never stay afloat with one around. Most the time Tenna would end the argument agreeing. They have time, they don't have to rush into kids

Then Dess turned 18. His younger brother's eldest had become an adult before he'd even gotten to have his first child

He decided to leave Spamton.

For a year Tenna crashed at the Dreemurr household, becoming like a House Husband, keeping busy and near family helped with the blow of Divorce

He even opened his own studio in Hometown, running the local News with help from some employees that followed him from Cyber City

When he finally moved out of his Brother's home however, his health began to rapidly decline. Tenna had never lived alone before. Despite being in the same town as his family he still felt he was failing his purpose, especially seeing as he still craved to start his own, to be a parent

He ended up bribing his Niece and Nibling, Noelle and Kris, to help him with that last part

Spamton G. Addison Dreemurr Spamton

Born the youngest of 5 kids to workaholic, lower-class, broke parents, Spamton has always pursued a better life. He happily took Tenna's name when they got married, ready to run away from his past and chase this new future, together

He dropped out of high school and started work at an Auto Body shop at 16, married young at 18, and moved himself and his new Husband out to Cyber City as soon as possible to try and make a name for themselves

Spamton worked tirelessly at any Mechanic or Machine shop that'd take him while Tenna pursued being on the screen, and when Tenna broke it big he used the cushy spare cash to open his own Car Dealership and Autobody Shop

When Tenna left him however, Spamton's pay wasn't enough to keep up with the bills their apartment with a view in the city took. He currently lives in his Dealership, which is only still in business because he owns the building (well, Tenna owned it, but Spamton negotiated for it during the divorce proceedings. Tenna was fine with that)

He's fallen into every "Divorced man in his 40's" coping mechanism you can think of. He's started attending church regularly (not the one in Hometown, yes Monster Religion is very Anti-Darkner, yes he's taking that to heart), he's got a workout regimen, he bought a motorcycle, he's smoking again, he's hitting on people half his age, he'd probably go out to clubs and bars every night if he wasn't so Broke all the time

Two years after the split he's still not over Tenna (and Tenna isn't over him either), but he doesn't regret his stance. He doesn't want kids, he saw his parents work themselves to the grave to afford kids. He didn't want that. But he did want Tenna. It's hard to imagine his life without him

Because of that, and because Tenna was the one to leave HIM, he's chosen not to reach out to Tenna no matter What, even if he really really really wants to. Tenna has to come back to HIM

Recently a human with a shit old beater has been coming around his shop lately and is not at all subtly checking him out. Maybe it's about time he lets himself get back out there?

"Mike"

A Friend of both Spamton and Tenna and one of their most valued employees

No matter how depressed the two are about the Divorce neither of them ever seem down when Mike is around

Not a Darkner, not a Monster, not a Human, it takes all sorts of different forms, though recently it sticks to three

Large/Cat Mike is Spamton's employee, it drives the tow truck for Bigshot Autos

Small/Mic Mike works for Tenna as his assistant and right hand. Mike stole the design of Small Mike from one of Tenna's exployees

It seems to have a recent fascination with Battat and his friends

Pluey and Jongler

Employees at TV Time Studio, Pluey works props and special effects and Jongler helps with sets and lighting

The two became friends with Battat when he started part time, taking interest in his Youtube hobby and tagging along on his Ghost Hunts

Ever sense they started tagging along more and more mysterious things seem to be happening to them

Pluey is still a little in the closet as a Transwoman and is only out to Jongler and Battat... and Mike but that wasn't on purpose Mike just happend to overhear

WingDings Gaster, Comic Sans, and Papyrus

The three Skeleton brothers, only they're not brothers, and only one of them is actually a Skeleton...

Gaster isn't quiet a darkner and isn't quite a monster, like Mike he seems to be something else entirely. He has a deep fascination with Darkners and pursues research and study of them, experimenting with the concept of Made Darkners under the endorsement of the collage he works at

Sans is a Darkner, a plastic Halloween Skeleton to be exact. He was made without purpose, but doesn't appear to be in any sort of poor health. He is one of Gaster's experiments, and is currently running a grocery store in hometown

Papyrus is, also, a Darkner. By technicality. Legally he doesn't exist, because he was made very illegally. Papyrus' object is a Human Skeleton, sprinkled with Monster Dust to provide magic, and given the Purpose to "Live". He tags along with Gaster to collage and is taking any and all classes he can

Being a Darkner made of Remains, Papyrus has memories of the lives he is made of, but only some, and only scattered fragments, nothing exact or clear he could pinpoint to find where his body parts came from. He'll randomly know things without knowing how he knows them

The three share a house back in Hometown, Sans and Gaster easily stay out of one another's way, but Papyrus is constantly attempting to pull the two into Bonding and Hanging Out

Abbie, Emmy (@emmytsukimi), Iggi, and Olli

The rabbit sisters of Hometown, Abbie took on a lot of responsibility at a young age after their mother past, practically raising her sisters while their father worked

Abbie runs the Diner in Hometown, she loves her sisters and Nephew more than anything and is just happy seeing them happy. She's not interested in romance or getting married

Emmy ran off to the City as soon as she'd graduating High school chasing a dream to make it big as an artist. While she never ended up in the galleries of Cyber City, she did meet her now husband, Ramb, and moved back to Hometown together to settle down. She spends most of her time now out by the lake, drawing and crafting

Iggi was the only of her sisters to go off to collage, becoming a lawyer and a hard working stiff. She married her high school girlfriend after getting her degree and the two are currently expecting their second child

Olli is a student in Mrs. Dreemurr's class and is currently anxiously awaiting a younger sibling

Ramb

The eldest child of a large family, Ramb's been working hard jobs his entire life and is happy to finally be settling down into Hometown life

He use to work as an Assistant to Mr. Ant Tenna at TV Time Studios back in Cyber City. It was a decent job before the boss and his now ex-husband got into arguments about family and kids every day

With Emmy's encouragement, Ramb left his exhausting job and moved to Hometown with her, where the two eventually got married. He now works at his sister-in-law's diner as a Dishwasher

When Tenna moves back to Hometown he and Ramb start reconnecting, no longer and boss and his therapist stand in employee, the two actually get along pretty great. They get drinks on the weekends sometimes

Mettaton

The newest rising star in Cyber City, Mettaton's original claim to fame was his simple shape a sharp wit, making him a perfect replacement for the recently retired Ant Tenna, though now with his new body the star's much more than a simple reporter, and is now making his debut as Cyber City's newest Idol

In his humble beginnings Mettaton loved watching Mr. Ant Tenna's TV Time, and dreamed of being a television star like him, possibly even working along side him some day.

However, by the time Mettaton had finally broken onto the screen, Tenna had suddenly announced his retirement and moved back home to host a local news broadcast

Mettaton still wants to meet and work along side Tenna, he's pushing his agent constantly to get him on that local news channel but Tenna... Isn't much of a fan.

Mettaton's too... Sensual for his new brodcasting style, and the way he wears the torn old TV Time Shirt? He MUST be mocking the old TV

I'm sure once they get in a room together they'll get all of that sorted out. And then... well who knows what else could happen

(another big inspiration for Mettaton was a Drag King he'd seen preform once so long ago. Oh, what was his name...?)

Alphys

A woman who can't stop just doing Everything, she works as a Middle School teacher in Hometown, a guest speaker at a Local collage in her town, and an amateur inventor on the side

She and Mettaton met originally online over a shared Musical fandom and hit it off well, learning they live close they started meeting up irl to hang out, and even went out to Karaoke and Drag Shows together

She originally built Mettaton's Debut Body both as a gift for her best friend, but also as a submission for a grant as the local Collage looking to endorse Soul Research. She used the funds from her Grant to build Mettaton's Idol Form, and is currently assisting Gaster with his research

She has a crush Undyne, a campus security guard who always walks her to her car when she stays late in the labs

Toriel and Asgore Dreemurr

Asgore and Toriel first met in their second year of Middle School. At the time Asgore's parents were very controlling of his life, dictating who he could befriend and what he could do very closely. Upon meeting Toriel he assumed she was another plant by his parents, a perfect Wife for the future owner of his father's country club. He immediately disliked her

Toriel, who took no shit, picked up on the silent and subtle dislike Asgore had for her and immediately confronted him about it. It didn't seem fair for him to treat her so rudely (mostly just ignoring her) when they'd only just barely spoken a word to eachother. Asgore immediately liked her a LOT actually

They started dating in High school and remained sweethearts throughout collage, getting married and moving away from Asgore's controlling parents to Hometown in their early 20's

They are an open relationship, mostly coupling with Rudy and Carol Holiday, though Toriel has been flirting with the skeleton running the grocery store recently

Asgore and Rudy have been friends sense Elementary school, Rudy was the first friend Asgore had ever made on his own (other than Tenna who he made very literally)

Toriel and Carol first met at collage, Carol was Toriel's dorm mate and the two hit it off instantly. Back then Carol was much more of a punk than she is now, and Toriel was rather wild herself. The two got into a lot of trouble back then that they'd both rather forget about now

Carol and Rudolph "Rudy" Holiday

Originally meeting in collage, Carol was dubbed the campus "Ice Queen", always turning down any guy who approached her with a horrible glare. A couple of buddies of Rudy's dared him to ask her out, which he took of course

While she turned him down like everyone else, he did manage to crack her cold facade with his terrible holiday themed puns, which interested him in her, leading to his pestering of her the rest of her time on campus, and a while after when he found out where she worked, until the eventually started dating

Holiday is Carol's maiden name, she refused to change it when they got married, as she is a Christmas Fanatic and loved having a Christmas themed name. Rudy was happy to take her name so long as she stopped calling him Rudolph all the time (she's not much of a nickname person)

Rudy carried Dess to term and suffered from very severe DT sickness because of it. He still has symptoms to this day, though they're lesser and he tends to cover them up pretty well, though he's still in and out of the hospital pretty regularly

When they were younger Dess use to wear a horn headband like Kris does now to fit in with their Monster Family. It was made from the Antlers Rudy had shed the year before Dess was born

Carol is the only member of the Dreemurr/Holiday polycule who does not date outside the pre-existing group. She prefers what she already knows and is comfortable with

Rouxls Kaard and King Spade

Originally a local Drag King, he eventually adopted his Drag persona as his full time self upon Transition

Early in his career as a performer he had a few one night stands with regulars at his performance, one of which being a very bulky darkner he found himself bedding a handful of times

He wasn't exactly careful back then, and with Monster children incubating in the soul by the time he'd noticed he was pregnant it was too late to get an abortion

While his original plan was just to put the kid in foster care and be more careful in the future, somehow word got back to that Darkner about this situation. The man came to Rouxls door, claiming he'd take the kid, and stay out of his hair for good. Rouxls believed him

Until 14 years later a purple Monster girl and her bouncy baby brother showed up at his door asking for a woman by his Deadname claiming she was her mother

Turns out that hulking Darkner got himself arrested and, not wanting to loose custody of both kids to the littler one's mother, sent them both HERE. WITHOUT CALLING.

Logically, he should call child services. Instead he set the two up on his couch with a single blanket to share and told them not to bother him unless it was Life or Death

Apparently everything is life or death to an 8 year old who likes to dig holes and eat worms

While he still does Drag shows for fun, Rouxls mostly makes a living working at a Nail Salon and Spa. Though he did apply to be a make-up artist at the local TV Time Studio in Hometown

Queen Holiday

Accidentally made by Carol in her first year of collage when she was attacked on Campus, her purpose is to "Protect"

Sense she only became Carol's "sister" late in life the two aren't close, and she's not at all connected to Carol's parents, either (neither is Carol tbf). Their relationship only gets rockier sense Queen tends to do everything Carol does but Better

Carol passing her exams and graduating with honors? Queen's valedictorian of their grade. Carol becomes mayor of humble Hometown? Queen is mayor of Cyber City, and won by a Landslide! Carol throws a big Christmas party? Queen hosts New Years in her Pent House with Fireworks in the shape of her face RIGHT OUTSIDE THE WINDOW

Needless to say Carol isn't a giant fan of her sister

The only thing Carol is doing better than Queen is Family, by a Long Shot. Queen does have split custody of her Son with his father (along with his elder sister who she's Indifferent to), but she's never very attentive when they're staying with her, usually dropping them on her QPR Swatch before running off to work

She is a much better Aunt than she is Mother, though she does show a LOT of clear favoritism for Noelle, which in turn makes Noelle kind of uncomfortable

Queen seems rather oblivious that her Family doesn't exactly Like her very much. Or maybe she's just trying to pretend through the visits

According to Swatch she's been in poor health lately, but is hiding it rather well

Pink Swatch

The eldest of 7 children, Swatch prefers to go by their surname. They are Mayor Queen's assistant and Partner. They come across as cold, reserved, and sharp, and that's because he is

Despite practically raising all their siblings, Swatch isn't much for Children. They don't dislike them exactly, they'd just rather not be Around them. They prefer to spend their time with people their own age

Despite this they have shared custody of not only Queens children, but one of his own as well

Yes, as a younger raven, Swatch allowed themselves to get tangled up in what one may call Puppy-Love and while they were never married, a child did come from this coupling

Both he and the blue bird of his past are Working Adults now and split custody fairly, sense the child goes to school closer to where his mother lives, Swatch only has him on Weekends and Holidays

Truthfully, they're both workaholic neglectful jerks and the poor kid is Struggling to get the parental approval he needs

Kris Dreemurr and Noelle Holiday

The youngest of the Dreemurr/Holiday families, these two are thick as thieves and have been for as long as either of them can remember

Kris was adopted at a very young age, no one knows their birth parents, though Dess always liked to speculate they were created in a test tube by Uncle Gaster behind everyone's backs. Gaster liked to play along with this idea when they were all kids

Because of their adoption Kris felt a sort of alienation from their family for a while, until they had a talk with their Uncle Tenna one family Christmas and learned about where he came from, and his relation with Asgore's parents

Noelle is a very spirited, silly, loud girl with a lot of spunk. Growing up Dess always encouraged her to stand up for herself, reminding her what a BIG family she has supporting her

She's still easily scared and startled, of course, but she always laughs it off, and even sometimes gets Kris back for it (and then Kris gets her back ten fold)

The two of them are, together, dealing with a growing crush on the new girl at their school

Lepido Dreemurr (@bububutterflying)

The thing Tenna always wanted, a child all his own. Lepido was made by Kris and Noelle who were very much Bribed into making it by their Uncle Tenna after he'd started living alone. Lepido's purpose is to "Help"

Tenna tries very very VERY hard to spoil his child Rotten now that he's finally got one, but Lepido is a very stand up and polite child, never wanting for anything other than Tenna's happiness

This is equal parts distressing and comforting to Tenna, as he's still not exactly over his divorce, and may sometimes (alot) emotionally lean on Lepido

It struggles with making friends it's own age, in Toriel's class it works quietly and keeps mostly to itself. The other children avoid it because it "acts like a grown up"

Even with Noelle and Kris, Lepido takes a rather passive role, rather watching them play a game than join

This is, until Lancer moves to town. He latches onto Lepido as another kid sitting all alone and just starts talking to it, all the time every day

He happily drags it along with him to dig holes or look for bugs in the woods, he thinks the way it talk so polite and grown up is Fun, even if he doesn't always get it

Tenna is both OVERJOYED to see his child making Friends, and also DISTRAUGHT that his baby is already growing up so fast (he's had Lepido for like 3 months)

Susie and Lancer Spade

A pair of siblings who recently moves to Hometown, crashing at Susie's "mom's" house until whatever is going on with their father clears up

Before they moved here Susie and King had a very rocky relationship. This was mostly due to Susie calling out King on his more destructive habits

The three were never homeless, they always had a place indoors to sleep with decent air conditioning and Something to eat, but that was always teetering the line of falling out from under them as King gambled with most of his paychecks from his already low paying job, that wasn't even full time (construction). And what he didn't gamble he used to buy Booze and Cigarettes!

Despite this, King was a pretty good father to Susie and Lancer. Maybe more so Lancer than Susie, but that mostly had to do with how well behaved Lancer is

He's not dead just. Currently avoiding the police. And it's the middle of the school year so he can't just take off with the kids. Thus why he sent them to Rouxls (who he hadn't talked to sense Susie was born)

In Hometown Susie has pretty much taken over parental duties for Lancer, making sure he gets home safe, has a packed lunch for school, does his homework, etc

In return, all of her self parenting has gone out the window. She rarely does her own school work, wash her clothes, or eat a real meal. Mostly because she can't cook

Though, when Lancer asks, Rouxls does make them dinner, and it's pretty good. Susie never asks though. She's learned better than to Ask for Things

Berdly Aves

The youngest kid to make it into Ms. Alphy's middle school class, Berdly is a shy, quiet, and forgettable bluebird among his peers

His mother is a school teacher at the affiliate High School in the District, and his father is assistant to the Mayor of Cyber City. The two aren't together, and he only goes to visit his father on the weekends

A boringly average student with okay grades and decent rapport with his peers, his mother is constantly telling him to Apply himself, to strive for Better, but even his best isn't good enough for her

Which his relation to his parents his shaky and distant, he actually has a very good relationship with his father's Siblings, especially his Uncle Emile, who encourages his gaming hobby, and even edits his YouTube videos for him

He runs a small YouTube channel. The only views and comments it gets are from his Dad's Siblings, but he loves playing games for them, mostly Minecraft

Though recently he's gotten a few more views and even a comment from an account he doesn't recognize... Who's "KrismasSMASH"?

Honorable Mentions

I wanted to spare myself from drawing tenbluemillion characters so here's just a quick rundown of people who ARE in this AU and have STORY, but aren't that fully concrete anyway

Undyne

Mentioned in Alphys' blurb, she's a rent-a-cop at the Collage Campus, she's not doing much else in this AU other than slow burning with Alphys thus why I didn't draw her, she just doesn't have much of a connection to anyone else, other than I guess Papyrus, maybe they hang out some. I dunno.

Lañino and Elñina

They worked with Tenna in Cyber City and moved with him to Hometown, as they were expecting a child soon and didn't want to raise their baby in the city. In this AU Lanino is Human and Elnina is a Sheep Monster. I imagine when Rouxls starts working at the studio the two of them catch crushes immediately, but sense they are eachother's only relationship, they have absolutely No Game and are fumbling him Hard.

Alvin Boom

God bless the Undertale stream for giving us Gerson Human Wife. Alvin is a Darkner in this AU, which makes his position in the church very interesting, as most following the Monster Faith believe Darkners existence to be against the will of the Angel.

Obvious Racist/Homophobic Christian Belief parallels aside, Alvin obviously doesn't preach that, his sermons are much more welcoming and warm to all, including of course, Darkners. He gets a lot of backlash from the wider religion, but in Hometown he is beloved and his sermons bring great comfort to those who hear them.

Kris' Classmates

Most of Kris' class is the same, sense most of the characters in it are already discussed earlier in the post or are minor to inconsequential characters in Deltarune I'm just gonna rush over this real fast.

Catti is the same, no changes other than the fact that her, Kris, and Noelle all regularly hang out and are a close Trio

Monster Teen is named Mic pronounced like the Mc in McDonalds but you can also call them Mic like "Mike" if you wanted it doesn't really matter. They're an exact foil to Kris, both their parents and their older sister are Humans and like Kris they have a complicated relationship with this dynamic, which has lately been showing itself in them acting out. They "Run away" a lot, mostly going to Snowy's house, they've stolen from the convenience store, been loitering around mostly. They've also started being a bad influence on Kris sense Asriel left, roping them into this sort of soft delinquent behavior

Snowy is mostly the same, more so like his Undertale counterpart though. With the recent loss of his mom and his brother moving out he and his dad have been sort of falling out more and more. This coupled with the fact that he's fallen into the wrong crowd (Mic and Kris) is really concerning to his Father, but the guy's really bad at communication, especially after losing his wife. I have this very dumb interaction in my head of Snowy complaining to Kris "Human raised by Monsters" and Mic "Monster raised by Humans" that his dad just DOESN'T understand him, and they both share a Look but don't say anything.

I've decided to replace Temmie with Mizzle in Kris' class for a few reasons; 1. There needed to be at least one Darkner in this class it's important to me, 2. As much as I love Temmie the character she is still based on a real person and I feel a little Weird writing her, and most important 3. I wanted to make a parallel to Berdly in this AU like Mic is to Kris and just write out the different ways one reacts to basically the same circumstances. Mizzle's mother, Miss Mizzle (alt name pending) is, like Berdly's mom, ALSO a teacher at the Affiliated High School in the next district over and is ALSO pressuring Mizzle to Do Better. But unlike Berdly her and her mom aren't that close and she doesn't Care about getting her mother's approval. She acts very aloof and has a fake one sides rivalry with Noelle over who's the prettiest most popular girl in school.

Swatchlings, Addisons, Pippins and Plugboys

I accidentally made it so Darkners seem to, on average, have A Lot of Kids. Not my intention but Whatever we roll with it.

Swatch and I have 5 siblings, born in two clutches of three. In the first was Red, Yellow, and Blue, and in the second is Orange, Green, and Purple. They are Darkners, both clutches have different fathers, Swatch is a Monster and doesn't know who his dad is, and I am a human of our mother's current relationship (that has been VERY on-again-off-again my entire life). My S/I is trans, his deadname is White.

Spamton has 4 siblings that he's the youngest of, they are, in age order: Blue, Orange, Pink, and Yellow. He regularly hung out with Yellow the most as they were the closest in age, and the only one who keeps up with him post-divorce is Blue. Spamton is also Trans, and his deadname is also White. Colors names are Normal in this world.

Battat has a LOT of cousins, he was practically raised on a Commune of Cousins and farther such families that moved around. Hippie Pippins. I imagine he has a very old Great Grandmother who's a wooden die.

Ramb I don't have an exact number on how many siblings he has, unlike some other people in this AU he didn't have to raise his own siblings luckily (that was left to his sisters, oop), instead he went into the work force at a very young age (construction I'm thinking, I like the idea of him being a Foreman at some point) to help support the house hold, until he eventually cut them off

That's EVERYTHING I have for this AU SO FAR. This was again, just a selfship with Spamton in the Lightworld sort of AU. And yeah it. Really got so far away from me.
