When was it in history that leaders got the suffix -star added on? Since I imagine this wasn’t always the common place for Clan leaders. And when it became accustomed for leaders to get a special suffix to say “I’m leader now,” was it always -star or were there more suffixes once upon a time similar to how Seers have different ones depending on the Clan (-leaf/-stone/-light/-feather). Suffixes that gradually decreased throughout history until it was just -star remained
Leaders initially worked more closely with seers around the time the position of seer became a thing, and to honor the fact that leaders were taking on both the role of holy interpreter and head of a community, they were given a special suffix, that being -star. It had been a topic of discussion up to that point to give leaders a specific name anyways, so once StarClan was established in religion... well, that was the perfect suffix to use.
Seers are a more recent invention, relatively. Oracles, preachers, spirit-talkers, whatever you want to call them, they exist in pretty much every species, but they weren't given a specific role in the Clans until later on, when the visions and dreams started having a recognizable pattern throughout the territories. That's why the seer suffixes were a later addition to the roster.

So if I understand this right, a guy is a seer because ducks his head at dinner one day and his companions ask him what's up and he says his second sight warned him a friend in Ireland was threatening to throw a butter dish at him and the Irish guy later confirms his story.
The next time people's credulity makes me want to tear out my hair and howl in frustration I'm going to remember this 17th century butter dish. Behold the butter dish, nexus of foresight, which above all other objects, is most readily perceived by the powers of prognostication.
seers and mages
seers use their aspect as a framework or a narrative to explain the world around them. they enjoy decomposing and recomposing everything in the terms of their aspect, setting up metaphors and parables about their aspect that they refine through conversation with others. because their insights are developed through story-telling, through social interaction, seers often lose their sight when their relationships with others are lost or strained.
mages are a different kind of story-teller. for mages, their aspect is not a framework, but a constraint. the stories they tell are testimonial, and feature their aspect as an ever-present force that almost turns into a concrete, often-antagonistic personality/or character in the course of the tales they tell. just as seers' descriptions of the world become metaphorical as result of their desire to explain to others, mages' descriptions of their lives become allegorical as result of their desire to blame the spectre of their aspect when they complain to others. mages therefore likely mirror seers in that they probably lose their sight when their relationships with others are lost, not because they become blind to their aspect, but because they become blinded by their aspect and its overwhelming presence.
what seers and mages offer the friends that help them in their journey to knowledge is solutions. mages' knowledge and the stories that generate them are specific, concrete, and in many ways, very personal to them. consequently, they solve problems miraculously, in ways that are difficult to understand and even harder to replicate. seers' knowledge and the stories that generate them are abstract and--while no less sophisticated than those of mages--tend towards generality and universalizability. as a result, they can teach you to solve problems related to their aspect all on your own.

Leader - Rowanstar
A large portion of the forest area. The cats in this clan used to be split into two clan that shared the forest, AspenClan and EvergreenClan, but they dispersed after the fire. They used to fight alot.
Act like a basic clan.
NewClan
Leader - Honeystar
Camp is an abandoned human cottage near a river. These cats also came from AspenClan and EvergreenClan.
Leaders and their families sorta get special treatment alot of the time. They also believe in arranged marriages, especially with leader kits.
WebClan
Leader - Casperstar
Oldest clan. They take up the marshlands up north. Kinda mysterious.
Casper is the oldest leader of all the clans though he doesn't look it. They've had the same leader since they were formed and they follow him blindly. Alot of their special customs are unknown and they usually keep to themselves.
EclipseClan
Leader - Goldstar
Take up the mountains and beach. Used to be two clans, CresentClan and SaltClan, before they merged when Rowanstar was still a kit.
They believe in passing roles. The leaders title is passed down generational, along with medics.
Rouges
Rouges aren't a clan and don't have a leader but there are a few special rouges I'm gonna talk about here
Seers - Oracle and his daughter, Meadow
Seers are cats that see. Kinda like med cats, they have a stronger connection to StarClan. They can predict the future and read fortune. They also kind act like a moonstone or moonpool, the healers go seek them out for visions and stuff, and leaders are granted their nine lives with them.
They're nomadic so they don't live in one place and they don't belong to any clan so they're happy to help all. A seer could be any cat really but this ability is passed down through blood.
Healers in this have less abilities because of this. Any cat can sense ghosts, only seers can see ghosts.
Oooo medic cats sounds cool maybe i should be a medic! Do they still see the future? Or is that ability limited?
Within the lore of Steorra, the seer and healer roles were once done by a single rank, which I haven't named yet but probably will go with "medic" for simplicity. This was back during the time when there were multiple Clans with smaller populations (I'll get to writing that lore post soon), and thus less for each population to do within their community. Once the Clans merged into the Clan, multiple ranks and roles were added to cover much more ground and a much higher number of cats who needed to contribute to the prosperity of their society. "Medics" eventually started specializing in one part of their job or the other - communicating with the stars or healing wounds and treating illnesses. The split was pretty quick and natural at that point into "healer" or "seer".
