From Gastroposter Lisa Nguyen, via Instagram:
Breakfast from this morning. I was kind of bored so decided to set up this picture. It was my first time making an avocado rose! It was so pretty (and I was successful)! Had some more cheeky sourdough from A Bread Affair with butter and vegemite. I added a pinch of sea salt and freshly cracked pepper to the avocado and just sliced it up as i went to eat with the toast. Easy enough to prepare and so delicious to eat! Also, some juice to go with it all from Commodity Juicery.
Day five
Still on it, and getting over the cravings. This is I also day 5 of cutting out meat and coffee.
Yumm Yumm: Okra and turmeric omelette with raw carrot, cherry tomato, sweet peppers and avocado 😋 Eggs are a very good source of inexpensive, high quality protein. More than half the protein of an egg is found in the egg white along with vitamin B2 and lower amounts of fat and cholesterol than the yolk. Morning :) Washing our breakfast smoothie berries with water and apple cider vinegar 🍓✨ I've read it helps to clean the fruit really well... "Fruits and Vegetables (even organic ones) NEED washed before eating. The conventional ones are loaded with pesticides and herbicides. Even organic produce can have pesticides on it, plus it can be just downright dirty (it is grown in the dirt, of course). Also, your produce is handled by many pairs of hands before it reaches your kitchen, and you can’t be sure that they all washed their hands before handling your produce. Fruits and vegetables may be handled at the farm, during packing, and then handled perhaps dozens of times by store associates and other customers. Bacteria such as Listeria, Salmonella and E. Coli can all find a home on your fruits and vegetables, both conventional and organic. These bacteria can cause food-borne illness and need to be washed away from your produce. Just because we can’t see bacteria and chemicals doesn’t mean they are not there! We need to get fresh fruits and vegetables in our diet, just not the chemicals, bacteria, dirt, and insects that may come along with them. You want to get as much of the pesticide residue, etc off of your produce as possible."
