That had been four days ago. Waverly was losing every last bit of self control she had left. Whenever Wynonna would enter the room she’d have to stop herself from outright staring. Wynonna was hot, it was just a fact. Now that Waverly knew her feelings were returned it was hard to focus on anything else. The only problem is that Wynonna is trying her hardest to keep her distance. Even when they’re in the safety of the homestead. Wynonna sleeps in her own bed and stays on her side of the couch. It’s driving Waverly nuts. She knows her sister is only doing it to try and protect her. Maybe stop her from going down this ‘path to hell’, as Wynonna so eloquently put it.

Waverly didn’t care about the consequences, though. She just really wanted to kiss the girl she’d been in love with for years.

“What movie do you wanna watch, Waves?” Wynona asked, flopping down onto the worn couch. Waverly held back an eye roll at the distance she left between them. This stupid game was gonna end tonight. It would be easy to finally get her older sister to crack.

“How about something spooky, daddy.” Waverly made sure to keep her tone playful. The term easily slipping into her vocabulary. She chose to ignore the warm feeling it gave her. “Something with ghosts,” she continued, taking notice of the fact Wynonna was now avoiding eye contact. 

“Okay, whatever you want,” Wynonna eventually responded, a little breathless. Waverly just smirked and subtly inched closer.

“What? No snarky comment about the nickname?” She challenged, which caused Wynonna to finally look over.

“Nope.” The short reply was enough fuel for Waverly to slide the rest of the way over to Wynonna. “You’re making it really hard for me to keep your virtue intact.” Waverly just shrugged and forced her way under Wynonna’s arm. She could tell by the way Wynonna immediately untensed that she’d won. The older girl gave in and wrapped her up. Waverly rested heavily against her, finally content.

“Love you, Wy.”

“I love you, too, brat.”

Doc Holliday looked back and forth between the two arguing sisters. They showed no signs of stopping. Instead of instigating them further he slowly crept his way out of the room. Waverly nor Wynonna took notice in the slightest. 

“That plan will never work! It’s stupid! Reckless!” Waverly yelled, putting her hands on her hips. “You’ll surely get killed,” she added, angrily. Wynonna rolled her eyes and waved Peacemaker around as if the gun had all the answers. 

“Not if I kill them first, babygirl,” Wynonna snarked back. She planned out a surprise attack, but she’d have to do it alone. Another person would compromise things.

“Don’t ‘babygirl’ me! I refuse to let you go through with this,” Waverly said and crossed her arms over her chest. Her sister could argue all she wanted but it wasn’t happening. “You haven’t even kissed me yet and you wanna run off to die.” The comment made Wynonna sigh and put Peacemaker on the desk. 

“If I kiss you then it makes this whole thing real. You should be running from me, Waves.” Wynonna leaned back against the desk in defeat. Waverly smiled at her and moved forward a few inches.

“You’re stuck with me. I don’t wanna be with anyone else. And I don’t wanna be anywhere else.” Her words just made Wynonna shake her head lightly. The pair stared at each other for another few seconds before Wynonna lunged forward. She gave Waverly a tiny kiss on the corner of her mouth. It only lasted about a second and Waverly almost missed it all together. Wynonna still looked shook up when she pulled back.

“That’s a start,” Waverly laughed out loud. “But I was thinking more of a, ‘your tongue’s in my mouth kiss’. Baby steps, though.” Waverly gave a thumbs up to her exasperated sister.

Wynonna gestured around the room. “I’m not gonna makeout with you at a police station.” This didn’t appease Waverly in the slightest. She continued staring at the older girl. “Look, since we had 'the feelings’ talk all I’ve wanted to do was shove you up against a door. Preferably at the homestead. But I can’t do that cause you’re still my baby sister. As fucked up as that is, you are.” 

Waverly reached out to lightly hold Wynonna’s hands. “This isn’t something you have to fight anymore. I’m in love with you and I want you to kiss me. You’re not gonna be able to change that no matter what you do,” she finished and smiled. They continued holding hands in the quiet room of the station. Eventually, Wynonna slowly inched forward and placed her lips on Waverly’s again. This time she didn’t pull away. Waverly stepped forward to pull her closer as their lips moved hesitantly together. They slowly kissed until a distant noise made them break apart.

“What happened to not making out with me at the station?” Waverly joked, still wrapped in Wynonna’s arms.

“You’re less likely to try and seduce me here,” Wynonna replied, squeezing her slightly.

“You wanna bet on that, daddy?” The older girl didn’t have a chance to reply as the door swung open. The two girls broke apart as Doc stared between them.

“Glad to see you two finally calmed down,” he said, not noticing the other girls’ blushes.

“Stop staring at me like that,” Wynonna said from her place across from Waverly. She’d suprised her earlier by cooking them dinner. It was a little burnt and she’d almost destroyed the kitchen, but it’s the thought that counts. Waverly was now staring at her lovingly, like she was going to jump her any second. “Eat your food and stop being horny,” she added, which caused Waverly to choke on her pasta.

“Hey! I wasn’t being horny,” Waverly protested after she had stopped coughing. Wynonna didn’t answer and instead pushed back her seat from the table. She made her way around to Waverly, pulling her chair back. Before Waverly could question her, she moved to straddle her lap. Wynonna just raised her eyebrows at her. “Okay, maybe I was being a little horny.” Wynonna smiled and leaned into her. 

“Glad we’re on the same page now, babygirl.”
