The one strange rule Anna is taught from day one: Never, under any circumstances, speak to the heiress. One night, Anna's curiosity gets the best of her and she attempts to sneak a closer glimpse of Elsa in her bedroom when she's caught. The pair strike up an unlikely friendship in which a vibrant and lovable Anna keeps the lonely girl company and brings her surprises, such as flowers and chocolates, from the outside. Things take a turn for the unexpected when Anna learns the true reason for Elsa's solitude – her parents had caught her having affairs with several of the girl servants and they are trying to marry her off as soon as possible to squash the rumors of their lesbian daughter.
