Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, normalmente considerados como uno de los grupos iniciadores del rap / hip-hop, el denominado "old school", para mĂ un estupendo grupo electro funk de principios de los ochenta. Otros que le gustaban mucho a Paul Weller.
A pesar de la estupenda "White Lines", creo que "The Message" fue su gran canciĂłn, lanzada como single por Sugar Hill Records el 1 de julio de 1982 y más tarde en el álbum de estudio debut del grupo. Una gran combinaciĂłn de estilos: electro, rap, disco, funk, dub, con letra de comentario social acerca de la difĂcil vida en el guetto, una de las primeras canciones del rap con una letra asĂ.
