What gets me about Nolan’s casting is that it makes me think of The Message (1976 film), it has two versions, one in English with an American/european cast and the other in Arabic with an arab cast (if you try to make an epic with 2 different version with different sets of actors and languages today they’d kill you lol) but even with the English version that has mainly white ppl and Latinos cosplaying as Arabs (unlike with the Odyssey they’re portraying real historical figures), the filmmakers made sure they could still pass as Arab, the men had beards and ethnic features, the women had dark hair and everyone is tan, the clothing is mostly accurate too AND it looks good, no one looks out of place, even the British actors don’t look out of place, compare and contrast with how the actors are styled in the Odyssey in that ugly ass armor, plain clothing and worst of all, pants.
