NYM - Dreadlight Archipelago
The island and coastal region of the Dreadlight Archipelago is regarded as the "Wall before the Gateway to the East". Essentially, this describes the Dreadlight as this place that "guards" the way to southern Avanor and its eastern seas, by way of Wayrest at the Twin Passage. The Dreadlight is otherwise also well known for its freedoms, as it is a region of several independent (albeit small) nations, as well as a number of old but affluent city-states, who all allow the presence of pirates and freebooters somewhat free reign in the region. Combined, these various places throughout the Dreadlight trade in and export vast amounts of fish, shells, gems, diamonds, and Stormwood; all via various Trade Companies that have rooted themselves deeply in this region.
