Mets whiplash taking 40 years off my humble life
for all of my hockey rpf-ers who are bored. reminder that there’s an active enemies to lovers plot on the New York Mets as we speak!!
The Mets being so bad has really been bumming me out. I mean, we’ve been here before, I should be used to this, but they’ve never had big expectations like they’ve had the last few years.
I will never, ever stop watching and supporting them but man has it been an awful watch. And I try to watch all the games I can every year, I’ve probably seen all of about 70% of their games over the last decade and I’ve tuned into 99% of them for a least a little bit, and lately it’s just so brutal.
I’m still excited for the future and I might have the unpopular opinion that I trust Sterns’ long term player development and vision (considering Benge is the only player he’s drafted to debut), but that future seems so far away.
I have bonded a lot with my family over the last few years about the Mets and now all we do is complain, and it’s not like it was when we didn’t have expectations. It’s just sad now. Man.
Oh well. They will be good and win eventually and that’ll be one of the best days of my life.
