Shoto couldn’t help but notice things about you. You’d caught his eye about one second after you were called upon to throw the ball on your first day, just after his throw, And honestly, His mind was blown when you used his quirk to throw the ball and just fall shy of his measurement, he was mesmerised immediately not only by your power, but by your beauty. Really.... On the first day he found a distraction? REALLY?
The two of you had hung out a few times since then, just for coffee or a beach walk. When he was with you, he couldn’t help but watch you. He wanted to memorize you. He thought about you sometimes when you weren’t around, and parts of you were hazy, parts he just couldn’t remember. If he could only commit you to memory. Maybe he was being a bit creepy, did he care? Not at all.
But there was one thing he hadn’t seen, no matter how often he looked at you.
Your smile. He had yet to see what he imagined to be the most beautiful smile.
You had a habit, a bad one in his books, because it prevented him from seeing that smile he longed to see. He’d seen you do it whenever you smiled and every time you laughed. You would cover your mouth with your hand, as though your smile was a forbidden treasure. It didn’t make sense to him. It was going to bother him. He’d memorized most of you by now, but your smile was still shrouded in mystery.
He took you to a nice Korean BBQ restaurant for your first official date, one where the prices of the dishes weren’t listed on the menu. You told him It was to much, but he was insistent.
It was on Endeavor anyway.
“A stunning woman like you deserves the world and more and should be treated like this all the time,” he noted. “I am proud to call you mine and show you off to the world.”
You felt an embarrassed smile tugging at the corners of your lips, and you raised your hand to cover it. Shoto noticed.
“Why do you always do that?”
“Hide your smile?” he wondered. “I have never seen you smile, its always hidden by your hand”
Your eyes widened, and you had look down at your hands, which suddenly were the most interesting things in the world.”
“It’s… Ermmm, its just that I...” you mumbled, struggling for the words. “I used to get bullied a little in school after I chipped my front tooth when I was practicing controlling another persons quirk, I was pulling a chair towards me with a friends telekinesis quirk and lost control and it took a chip out of my front tooth.”
“I never even noticed,” Shoto said honestly. “Only a shallow person would notice something like that and comment on it.”
You slowly looked up at him, you flashed your teeth at him, and now that he stared hard, he could see it. A small chip taking the bottom right corner of your front left tooth off.
“Well, I don’t know why you would feel the need to be embarrassed about that,” he shrugged. “It’s cute.”
“Its cute? really?” you stammered.
“Yeah, it is, and its a part of you that makes you uniquely you” he assured you.
“It’s just… Everyone used to make comments and stare,” you mumbled.
“Well, I can tell you something for free,” Shoto said, leaning across the table toward you. “I can promise you, when you’re with me, no one will dare make a comment, if they even notice, they will probably be to busy staring at my scar.”
A slow smile pulled at the corners of your mouth. For the first time, you let it happen, folding your hands in your lap. Shoto just stared. He looked like he was concentrating hard.
“W-what’s wrong?” you asked, the smile slipping a bit.
“Beautiful,” he said with a smile. “I want to get to see it forever and burn the image into my mind”
