In case anyone else is feeling let down by today’s Loki episode, specifically in terms of Loki genders, I have a theory.

Granted, this may be ENTIRELY a product of my own wish fulfillment and the truth is that Disney/Marvel really did just queerbait us with that genderfluid thing. In which case I may be writing a fix-it fic next week. But anyway, here’s the headcannon:

Loki was raised in Asgard, a society that, canonically in the MCU, has issues of sexism and toxic masculinity (though these issues change somewhat depending on the writer and director, they’re still definitely there). We’ve also seen Loki being derided for his magic, and the miniseries seems to confirm that Loki is actually far more powerful than even he realizes, probably in part because he’s never had a chance to truly develop his magical potential.

I would like to propose that one of the significant establishing moments of Loki’s childhood within the “sacred timeline” is an event, or series of events, in which Loki questions and/or experiments with gender. He is immediately discovered and the reaction of the other important people in his life is so violently negative that he’s persuaded to never try it again.

(This doesn’t have to imply that Odin, Frigga, Thor, etc. were malicious. It could just be the result of centuries of systemic sexism. Heck, maybe Odin in part freaked out because Loki-as-a-girl looked just like Hela at that age.)

That means that what Sylvie doesn’t know is that the nexus event in her timeline wasn’t her birth, but the absence of whatever trapped “canon” Loki in the gender-fluid closet. The deviation became enough for the TVA to notice when Sylvie’s she/her presentation began to interfere with the “sacred timeline.” Most likely her confidence in her identity was disrupting Loki’s “canon” childhood of failing to be as masculine as Thor, since it would have given Loki room to find their identity as more than merely the lesser prince.

Me, watching Disney translate Terra’s quote about connections into Terra calling Aqua his light:

Je pensais faire un come back vers avril mais force est de constater que je suis pas revenue en avril (captain obvious). Du coup on est fin juin et je me dis why not. C’était un très bon exutoire tumblr et peut-être qu’en ce moment j’en ai re-besoin. Voilà c’est tout.

Par contre ce serait trop long de résumer mes 4 mois d’absence (j’ai l’impression que ça fait une année honnêtement) parce que fuck il s’en passe des trucs en 4 mois.

Alors depuis mes derniers posts:

J’ai enfin investi dans mon casque Bose QC35 et c’est le meilleur achat de ma vie, c’est mon âme soeur, mon tout, mon univers. Et en plus de ça je me suis mise à Spotify et ça a changé ma vie.

C’était une période durant laquelle je suis beaucoup sortie et je me socialise de plus en plus donc on va dire que c’est pas mal (je suis un peu un animal sauvage en société, je suis friendly quand on vient vers moi mais sinon je fais peur aux gens #restingbitchfacesyndrome). Pour ceux qui s’en inquièteraient : mon foi va bien (pour le moment). Bref, chill, soirées (#murges), expos (Basille, Kimonos), cinéma (Patients, Grave, Logan, Pirate des Caraïbes, Wonder Woman) et un concert (Birdy Nam Nam et c’était de la balle) ~

Je suis toujours en alternance, je me fais chier en cours et j’ai hâte d’être diplômée l’année prochaine et en parallèle je survis au taff.

Ma mère a crashé la voiture, a perdu son permis, l’a récupéré, a racheté une voiture => tout un bordel mais c’est du passé (y) (tout ça pour dire que le bus et moi on s’est pas mal côtoyé si vous voyez ce que je veux dire)

Je suis partie en weekend à Amsterdam avec mes meilleures potes. À vos questions : oui.

Juste après Amsterdam, 7h de bus et 1h de sommeil je suis allée à Disney avec ma boîte et c’était très cool si on omet que :

C’était l’apocalypse niveau météo (soleil, pluie, soleil, orage, soleil, grêle, soleil, pluie etc.)

Que du coup toutes les attractions étaient détraquées => évacuée de Ratatouille, pas de Indiana Jones, collègues évacués du Train de la Mine, bloquée en plein milieu d’Hyperspace Moutain (j’ai cru que j’allais mourrir, je me suis vu mourir honnêtement surtout quand t’entends le wagon d’après arrivé à pleine vitesse derrière toi)

La bouffe du fast-food est toujours dégueu et hors de prix

J’avais l’impression qu’on tapait avec des pastèques sur le crâne toute la journée (manque de sommeil) et que vers la fin j’étais au bout de ma vie

Je suis actuellement fauchée. Fau-chée. Merci Amsterdam. Et j’ai plus que 6 GO de données internet sur mes 30 GO. C’est la misère.

… J’ai rencontré un mec.
