Valentineās Day Prompts
20. āThis is an unholy amount of cheesy romance novels.ā
āAnd I plan on getting through most of them today.ā Skye answered smoothly as she turned the page of the one she was reading.Ā
Maeve pouted.Ā āBut itās Saint Valentineās Day! Donāt you want to do something?ā
āOf course I do sweetheart. Itās sit here and judge these books as much as I like. Youāre welcome to join me.ā
Well, readingās not the most boring thing Maeve can think of, but itās also not one of the ways she would pass an afternoon. She hmmād as she debated. Potentially boring activity versus spending time with her girlfriend. Decisions, decisions...
āHey whatāre you guys doinā?ā Evie popped over the back of the couch. Upon seeing her two partners sitting comfortably on the couch, she made a beeline for the last seat available and flopped onto it, kicking her feet up so that her legs were over Maeve with her feet in Skyeās lap. Skye simply lifted her book without taking her eyes off it and kept reading.Ā
āReading.ā Maeve answered.
āNice invisible book loser.ā
āFine, Skyeās reading and Iām debating reading because itās boring.ā
Evie tilted her head.Ā āSo turn it into a game. Like...a bingo card of overused cliches and tropes.ā
Now that sounded a lot more like fun, and judging by Skyeās side-eye, sheās curious as well.Ā
They spent half the afternoon finding materials for the boards and writing down cliches -Ā āDonāt forget confession in the rain, thatās a staple!ā - and the other half reading a book of their own choosing. For legitimacy, they had to show each other the sentence showing their ticked off square, which soon devolved into more giggling and roasting than actual reading. But by Skyeās smiles and Evieās infectious laughter, Maeve thought they didnāt mind it very much.
