oh no, sorry, that’s the place I’m in now -- the new place has 8′ ceilings, 10′ around the windows. I really need to take a photo of those, it’s so hard to explain that I have two ceilings :D

I want you to know, just so you're kind with yourself about it, that even redecorating is fraught with peril. I once broke ribs redecorating (falling off a ladder no less) once you break out the power tools and it becomes honest renovation injury becomes even more likely. I have scars like a Marine from renovation And My House Isn't Finished. So, have a plan for what you're going to do when the inevitable injury happens. I'm going to go re-roof my porch now.

Oh for sure -- I am genuine in my surprise that it didn’t happen earlier :) I’m usually pretty safe around power tools since I’m constantly vigilant with them, but sometimes I forget to be vigilant the rest of the time too :D

I'm glad you're mostly okay! Hopefully some ibuprofen or ice will fix you right up. In better news though, the hall looks great! I love that color matched against the color of the floor!

Yeah, I wasn’t even thinking about the floor when I picked it but it does look nice, doesn’t it? I’m so glad I took the time to paint the trim a different color, too.

Would meeting him in a context where you were supposed to meet him help, eg a convention or something? Cause meeting celebrities in spaces where they want to talk to fans is way less nerve-wracking then just running into them.

Nooooooo -- the only interactions of that kind I’ve ever had have been at conventions, so those are what proved the issue to me. 

Mind you, I can see why you’d suggest that, because I’m very much about normalizing interaction in that kind of...formal transactive way? Like, some people get wigged out about, for example, therapeutic massage, but I am actually way more at ease with it than almost any other kind of touch because I’m paying for it so there’s a transaction taking place that I fully understand and both sides have agreed to. So ordinarily you’d think a formal convention encounter would put me at ease, but I suspect this is just one of those things where nothing would.

I would take Ian!Kidfic over Peter!Kidfic a hundred times. It's just so damned rare, due to the rest of DimZ being such a goddamned trainwreck.

The trainwreck is part of it, but I think the much more major part is that most of fandom runs on MCU, not on the comics, or on a mashup of MCU and very widely-known comics knowledge. Which is fine, MCU is a legit canon and the comics are FUCKING HELLISH to try and get into, and why would you read the Dimension Z arc anyway, it’s not good. But it means that most people know Ian exists but don’t really know what his deal is. (After the reboot, I don’t know what his deal is either, some weird shit went down around him during the Battleworld nonsense.) 

I think a lot of people know about Ian but are hesitant to write him because they don’t know the backstory, which is legit. Though I have to say if people did start writing Ian fic I would be the first to tell anyone saying “you got Ian wrong” to shut the hell up. :D

Entirely likely.  

Mostly that scene is there because I think that Clint gets underestimated a lot.  What he does is, in some ways, more impressive than what most super heroes can do, and it's never been fully explained how he manages it.

Basically, "Hollow Your Bones" is my love letter to Clint Barton and the crazy ass things he does.  I'd seen a lot of 'team coming together' fics, but none that centered on Clint, who was, at the end of the Avengers movie, the most unknown element of the team, both for them or us.  They either had to accept him, or it wouldn't work.

This is a group of fundamentally broken people.  Holding Clint together holds them together, it gives them a common goal, and a chance to come together,  It gives them an excuse to stay, when they should walk away.
