I am terrible. For years, the only part of Joxer the Mighty I've been able to remember -is- "Joxer the Mighty." The rest is just wordless tune.

Thank you. You know, it's funny, speaking of understanding and patience - every time I post a status update about this, I end up feeling extremely guilty afterwards because I keep thinking, "There's always two sides to every story and I'm pretty sure this other person truly believes they're in the right, so I should tone down my posts so they don't look like such a bad person." Logically, though, I know that that's the exact same line of thinking which kept me from speaking out every time I felt disrespected by them. I didn't want to call them out and make them feel bad. But I can't dampen my feelings in order to preserve other people's dignity any longer.

Ergh… sorry, I didn't mean to go off on that tangent. I guess I'm not quite as past things as I'd thought.

While I'm not in the exact same position, I know the frustration of job-hunting and interviews and not wanting to do what your family thinks you should. I can't, and wouldn't, tell you what to do, but I'm sending you good luck on the B&N interview. Second interviews are awesome.

I would take Ian!Kidfic over Peter!Kidfic a hundred times. It's just so damned rare, due to the rest of DimZ being such a goddamned trainwreck.

The trainwreck is part of it, but I think the much more major part is that most of fandom runs on MCU, not on the comics, or on a mashup of MCU and very widely-known comics knowledge. Which is fine, MCU is a legit canon and the comics are FUCKING HELLISH to try and get into, and why would you read the Dimension Z arc anyway, it’s not good. But it means that most people know Ian exists but don’t really know what his deal is. (After the reboot, I don’t know what his deal is either, some weird shit went down around him during the Battleworld nonsense.) 

I think a lot of people know about Ian but are hesitant to write him because they don’t know the backstory, which is legit. Though I have to say if people did start writing Ian fic I would be the first to tell anyone saying “you got Ian wrong” to shut the hell up. :D
