Everyone, we need to talk about Denny Wilson. The most recent episode showcased him in such a big way, and I just want us to acknowledge that. That kid is brave, but even more, he is kind, and he is curious. He is the perfect sum of both of his mothers’ primary traits, and he does not get enough recognition for all the good he brings to the narrative. On top of being one of The Kids, he really shows us how Hen and Karen have succeeded as parents. He is relentlessly welcoming to each of the fosters kids in the Wilsons’ care, both protective and sweet about them, and clearly has his mothers’ hearts when it comes to those foster kids being taken away or back to their families. And he loves his family so much that he spent much of the time when he was pinned by that car worrying about everyone he loves. He’s got that inner strength where, even while he’s suffering and dying!!!! briefly, he’s still present enough to worry about the sister he saved and the moms he’s worrying (understatement, really). And while I know he’s not perfect, no kid ever is, he really showed how much of a ray of light he is last night, and I need to see more of him when he’s not in angsty and life-threatening situations!!!
