I think what gets me in such a chokehold about Allen60 is they are the epitome of "In a fight they're lethal--around eachother they melt."
Sixty is impulsive, aggressive, conniving and often cold.
Allen is dedicated, passionate, duty-before-self and reserved.
Sixty can be so manipulative. But never with Allen (maybe he's tried once or twice at first and Allen's called him out on it). With Allen he comes apart, pliant and tender. It's a side he only shows Allen and Allen is so protective of it. Because he knows Sixty just can't show that softer side of his to others.
And when it's just them, Allen is unsure of himself sometimes, laments on mistakes or regrets. He's expected to carry the weight of every call and every task assigned to his squad. But with Sixty he can let that go and let Sixty take care of him instead. And Sixty is so compassionate to him. So supportive.
I just love that about them. Idek if that's the fandom perception of them--but it's mine. And I'm obsessed with that dynamic.
