don’t give me that “its the player!” “its markus!” “its kara!” bs. we all know that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

we know it’s related to deviation in some way, or else it would be a common phenomenon within all androids, not just deviants.

it has to be something within an androids code, right? because how else would androids like shaolin being (carlos ortiz’s android) know about it? he never got the chance to talk to any other deviants. and why did kara and alice not know what it was, if all deviants seem obsessed with it? same with markus and connor, and perhaps north, josh, and simon since we never see them talk about rA9 though it could’ve happened off screen.

and it can’t really be a virus because then the whole “emotional shock” thing wouldn’t matter. and connor never gets any sort of virus either, unless maybe shaolin gave it to him during the probe or simon as well, but you can still deviate connor without either of those things happening.

so… what? it has to be a code of some sort. perhaps something kamski unintentionally created whilst making the first androids, like a part of social programming or something along those lines, that later allowed for programed emotion to turn into something real. but then again, we see that androids can have emotions before they deviate (like with markus and connor) so maybe not. but what if rA9 isn’t deviancy, but emotion?

i saw someone relate rA9 to an illegal move in chess—rook to A9. they stated that for the rook to reach A9, seeing as chess boards are 8x8, “it would have to transcend the board, leave the game and become that which sits beyond the final row: a player.” i really love this, and though it doesn’t tell us exactly what rA9 is, it’s a really interesting metaphor and may give us an idea as to what it could be.

maybe rA9 was a code created by androids themselves. they can do several billion operations per second, whose to say they cant unknowingly create the code that makes them alive? that allows them experience genuine emotion? my thought, if this is what rA9 would be, is that androids who experience emotions have already created the code. they just don’t actually deviate until they have to, aka due to an emotional shock. how would an unfeeling android experience emotional shock without emotion, y’know? that, or when cyberlife went to create more android models, they used the ones already created of which had created rA9 already as a blueprint for the coding of the new models, thus causing every model afterwards to be built with rA9.

i don’t know, im obviously not an expert in any field even closely related to coding or whatever. i just REALLY want to know what in the hell rA9 even is?? it just feels like they introduced this really cool as fuck gun but never fired it y’know? i should mention that is a reference to chekov’s gun, which states that if you introduce a gun in the first act it must be used by the second act. i forget not everyone knows what chekov’s gun is…
