Happy Féile na Draíochta!!

Once again thinking about how Darquesse's will to fulfill the prophecy was exacerbated by Skulduggery through his attempts at isolating her. The problem the whole time was that Darquesse had an unhealthy obsession with him that led her to being obsessed with the prophecy and what it would enable her to do to him, and this was made continually worse as Skulduggery attempted to protect others by cutting or managing Valkyrie's relationships with them (barring characters who left on their own) to make sure Darquesse didn't hurt them. Can't talk to other people? Nobody you can have an honest conversation with except Skulduggery? Boy, that sure sounds like the foundation of a healthy relationship! And so Darquesse's inability to interact with others made her focus more on him, in turn making her focus more on the prophecy. Fascinating because she mellows out a lot once she spends some time in the Faceless Ones dimension and actually experiences more of the universe than just what is directly connected to him.
