Divergent. That was what my result had been.Not Erudite, not Abnegation, not Candor, not Amity, not Dauntless. Divergent After my test, the person who administered told me to leave through the back.I did.I ran as fast as I could out of there.I ditched my blue jacket, leaving me in my blue long sleeve shirt and black jeans.It didn’t matter if I wasn’t like the others. I could choose. From somewhere I heard what sounded like a laugh.My eyes looked around but I saw nothing.I then realized the laugh was mine.It had been so long since I’d laughed.A smile however made it’s way on my lips and I slowed down,coming to a halt. Divergent I liked the sound of that. When the Choosing Ceremony came,I was ready.I watched a few people go on before me.One was an Abnegation girl named Elina Shae… She was very hesitant on her choice.I’d already seen an Amity transfer to Erudite, a Dauntless into Candor, but when it came for her…she seemed afraid. Then she spread her hand over the Dauntless fire.Murmurs went up from Abnegation just like when one of theirs had transferred into my-no…my OLD faction. A few people however aught my eye. A lady with long black hair,such pale skin almost like my own and her eyes…just like the now Dauntless girl.. A man with the girl’s hair and skin but his eyes brown and finally…a boy of 15 with navy hair,an orangey skin tone and eyes of baby blue… They were all smiling at her as she sat in Dauntless where she looked so out of place. She fit in perfectly. Four others went into Dauntless; an Erudite cavetroll, a redhead from Candor, a molenoid of Amity and…the boy from Abnegation. Then I heard my name be called. I hurried up and got to the stage, accepting the knife handed to me. I made a simple cut across,watching as a drop of blood fell into the fire before me with no hesitation. I was brave. I am Dauntless. I followed my new faction outside where I ran to keep up with them.The smile on my face never faltered  as I kept with them in pace. We jumped on the train that all Dauntless rode.I was last inside but my hand slipped and I almost fell out.A hand reached out for me and took hold of me,pulling me back inside the train car.I looked up and dark brown eyes met my emerald green ones.It was one of the Dauntless born who’d chosen to stay in his origin faction,Junjie. ‘’Thanks,’’ I told him as he let me go.Seconds turned to minutes and I heard the shouts of joy from some of the Dauntless born as we neared rooftops.They jumped on them and so did the transfers like me.I saw both the Abnegation jump with each other.The girl stumbled and I saw that she held her elbow. Soon it came my turn to jump.I took a deep breath before I launched myself out of the train and onto the rooftop before me.I stumbled but felt someone steady me.I said a quick thank you then ran to where the other initiates stood before a ledge.I caught the words ‘’Jump off this ledge’’ after a few other noises.I was about to step up but the Abnegation girl beat me to it.She stood at the ledge and took off the sweater she wore,tossing it hard at the Candor transfer Kyle.A few whistles,catcalls and jeers came from some of the boys but she payed them no heed. I could see she was nervous but the look of determination in her eyes doused it.She took a deep breath… And Jumped. ‘’First jumper:Elina Shae!’’ was what we heard as well as the sound of cheering from below.Others jumped down as well till only me and Junjie were left.I was about to walk forward to go next but an arm blocked me.I looked to the owner and met Junjie’s eyes. ‘’Let me go first so you aren’t scared’’ I scoffed at his words and pushed away his arm as I climbed onto the ledge.I looked over my shoulder to him where he stood with a flabbergasted expression as I smiled almost fearlessly . ‘’See ya at the bottom!” I shouted to him with a joking salute before I plummeted a few stories into the ground where I landed within a dark hole, my body making hard contact with a net. No turning back now. We all woke up the next day at 8 a.m. Or rather the others had.I had been awake for a lil while longer,getting dressed before them.I didn’t want any of them to see what my clothes hid. Scars. Scars my own family had caused.Their motives I never knew. When we got to training, we were each given a blaster,slug shell and a Flopper. Target practice. We were to hit the vital points of it in order to learn about skill and aim. I loaded the Flopper into my blaster and fired. Too high. Next shot.Too low. Third shot.Too weak. I relaxed and watched the others fire their slugs.Each had their own style. I looked closely at my blaster.It seemed a bit big for my hand.I took a deep breath and loaded a Flopper.I took careful aim before I fired. Bullseye. ‘’Not bad,’’ I muttered and started the cycle again.
