I am having a fully fledged Demily breakdown on main. I blame the gifset for making me notice that Daniel was TWIRLING Emily's hair when he was in Emily's arms after getting SHOT

I never noticed that, I am always so focused on the dialogue and Emily's tears that I didn’t even notice he was reaching out

She’d made sure to always be the perfect, doting girlfriend, never pushing back too hard, always with the perfect smile and the right words to soothe his ego. Once, it hadn’t all felt like a lie. (Once, at the very start, she’d truly loved Daniel Grayson, despite her insistence otherwise. Takeda had been right. And now…now he was gone, and... And damn it all, she still loved Daniel Grayson.)

My first Revenge fic! Idk if I’ll write more for this show, I'd certainly like to if. the muse ever strikes again, but it definitely had a hold on me when I was writing this, especially after the episode this fic was written about.

Danily is SOOOO so compelling to me—it’s not my endgame dream for Emily (that’s Aiden!), but in a way it’s a toxic OTP lol I love them sm. A lot of people argue over whether or not Emily loves him past s1, or if she ever did at all, but…I think she does. She doesn’t like it, in fact she likely hates it, but she does—she clings to that ideal of s1 Daniel, how charming he was, and though she will deny it until the day she dies, she loves him, and she always will.

I can’t wait to get to the part where Daniel finds out and how that changes their relationship :D I stopped at the wedding episode, but mayhaps I’ll pick it up again soon! And if you haven't watched it...I definitely recommend it, though I did spoil something in this snippet 😅 the first season is the best, the second is...decent, and I can't speak to the rest of the show yet since I stopped mid-s3, but popular consensus is that it falls off a cliff post-s2. So take that as you will

5: What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?

i don’t have to see you (right now) for sure. It didn’t get much feedback, to be fair, but I wasn’t really expecting anything at all, seeing as the fandom’s pretty much dead 😅 the show’s been over for a decade, and fandom wasn’t really the same back then as it is now. Unfortunately for me, this is the time when I’m actively in it…and while listening to Mt. Washington by Local Natives, and also watching 3x04 of Revenge…this idea hit me like a freight train and wouldn’t stop. I’m glad some people read and enjoyed it enough to leave feedback!

17: Your favorite character to write this year?

Ooooh Savitar. Definitely. Dipped my toe in with the little things (give you away) (also tackled Saviris that way too), and the train just kept rolling with Saveddie/Thallen and then Savisco/Barrisco (two connected fics about them: half in the shadows (half burned in flames) and i would take the suffering (from you)!). Consider me irrevocably fascinated with Savitar (as if I wasn’t already 😅)

28: Favorite work you wrote this year?

your eyes will need some time (to adjust), for sure. The first fic of the Daddy Issues AU (in which Barry gets adopted by Eowells and thus becomes Morgan’s adoptive brother), which I’m very excited to eventually continue eventually! Once I figure out where to go from here 😅

With so many plans gone awry—Father Paul dead, Conrad even more arrogant than before—Emily struggles for a foothold. Unluckily for her, Daniel's slipping away yet again.
