Lots of people imagine daddies!Sterek with little kids but Iâm hung on their (first) kid being older, maybe 12-13. A little older than Stiles when he lost his mom and a little younger than Derek during the fire. Their kid is a spitfire boy whoâs angry and upset and hurting cause he lost his family and Stiles and Derek can just *understand* him so well cause they were there too. And they want to show this boy (whoâs maybe a were?) that thereâs a way forward. That you can be happy after tragedy.

Summary: Stiles tries to plan a camping trip for his son and the reader doesnât make it easy for him.
Pairing: Daddy!Stiles x Reader
Prompt: âHot, gorgeous, beautifulâŚwhatever you want to call it.â
~
Stiles never planned on braving this world as a single dad, hell he never planned on being single again. He married the love of his life nine years ago, only to discover that she was an adversary in disguise.
Once Stilesâ home life became unstable, he knew it was inevitably heading down a rocky road. Leaving was a tough decision because of his son Drew but it turned out being the best thing for everyone.
So thatâs how Stiles ended up here, here being a charming ranch styled house in the middle of a California suburb. Not a day goes by where heâs not thankful for having the strength to rebuild his life.
Although it definitely helps that Stilesâ supportive parents and best friend Scott live close by. It helps that he grew up playing on the same dirt that his son is now. And it helps that his sporting goods store became wildly successful, allowing him to do what he loves.
âAlright, Drew. This is your last hurrah before school starts so make it count.â Stiles plops down at the kitchen table with a pen and pad in hand.
Stiles promised to take his son along with some friends on a camping trip, so he needs to nail down the details. Two full days of roughing it with a bunch of eight year old boys. Should be a piece of cake, right? Lord help him.
âWhat do you want to know, dude?â His mini me sasses with a mouth full of grilled cheese.
Drewâs personality entertains his father but it also scares the shit out of him a little bit. The similarities between them are endless and Stiles knows to expect a pain in the ass troublemaker in the years to come.
âNot including you, me and Uncle ScottâŚthereâs five people on the list. Is this everyone thatâs going?â Stiles slides it over and immediately heâs met with scowl.
âMikey canât go which stinks because he really wants to. I want him to go too.â
âMikeyâs the new kid that lives a street over right?â Drew nods his head.
âWhat did he say?â
âThat his aunt said no.â Drew says delivering a familiar Stilinski pout.
âHis aunt? He lives with her?â
âYup.â
âHow come she said no?â
âSheâs really old.â Drew shrugs finishing off his glass of milk.
âI see. Sorry, buddy.â Stiles chuckles focusing on his list again.
âCan you talk to her?â
âNo way.â
âPleaseeeee.â Drew begs with big puppy dog eyes that resemble his fatherâs.
âSon of a bitch.â Stiles huffs under his breath, he glances at the clock hoping to use the time as an excuse but he canât. Itâs only 3pm. Fuck.
âYou owe me, kid!â Stiles jumps up from his seat deciding to get this unpleasant task over as soon as possible.
Turning the radio up in Roscoe, Stiles backs out of his driveway and heads over to Mikeyâs house. Heâs always tried to be a hands on parent but this shit isnât his cup of tea. He rather not get involved with this kind of stuff if itâs not necessary. According to the sad look on Drewâs face today, apparently itâs necessary.
Stiles knocks a few times on the blue painted door in front of him, he takes a deep breath hoping that Mikeyâs aunt doesnât have a hearing problem. Really old people give him the creeps so he wants to bolt out of here as soon as possible.
The front door swings open to reveal a delicious looking woman around his age and sheâs now staring back at Stiles. Shit. Does he have the wrong house? Or maybe itâs the right house depending on how he looks at it.
âOh hiâŚIâm looking for Mikeyâs aunt. Is she home?â
âWhat did he do?â You automatically answer with a tired sigh.
âHuh? Nothing. Iâm Drewâs dad. Mikey and Drew have been hanging out ever since he moved here.â
âI see.â You give the handsome man a quick once over and you notice heâs doing the same to you. Youâre not sure where this is headed but you have a fresh pizza waiting for you inside and youâre starving.
âI can come back if sheâs not here.â Stiles adds awkwardly, reminding him of being back in high school. What the hell? Nowadays, heâs usually in his element when heâs around a girl like you.
âYouâre looking at her. Iâm Y/N.â You reply watching his face twist in confusion.
âYouâreâŚreally?â Stiles asks skeptically.
âYes. Why would I lie about that?â You see his mouth open and then close, he looks unsure on how to proceed from here. Wonderful. This is going nowhere fast.
âDrew told me that you were really old. So I was expecting someone totally different. Like a great aunt or something.â He finally answers sheepishly.
âI guess 30 is pretty old.â You cast your eyes down, fixating on your bare feet. Hm you really need to get a pedicure.
âIâm 34 so how do you think I feel?â Stiles gripes making your head snap up.
âAncient.â You smirk pointing out some gray hairs on his head.
âYouâre hilarious.â Stiles deadpans but you can tell heâs actually amused with your teasing.
âI know. So whatâs up?â You wonder leaning against the door jam as you cross your arms.
âIâm taking Drew and a few other kids on a camping trip next weekend and I heard you told Mikey that he canât go.â
âThatâs correct.â You answer right away offering no reason why.
âWell I know the boys have become friends since you guys moved into the neighborhood. And they both really want to go on the tripâŚI can change the date if thatâs the problem.â
âHas Drew ever been to your house?â You retort, surely catching Stiles off guard judging by his expression.
âUh I donât think so. He always comes over here now that I think about it.â
âExactly. I donât know you and thereâs no way in hell Iâm letting my nephew go off with a random stranger. Into the woods no less.â You explain firmly.
âWell first offâŚIâm awesome, Y/N. And second you could always come withâŚâ
âDo I look like a camper to you?â You interrupt with wide eyes.
âAm I supposed to assume that youâre not? Just because youâre really attractive?â
âAttractive?â You dryly question making him raise his eyebrows. Thatâs not the type of response heâs used to getting.
âHot, gorgeous, beautifulâŚwhatever you want to call it.â Stiles starts to feel slightly embarrassed under your gaze. It doesât help that you barely batted an eyelash at his remarks.
"Um.â You give Stiles a tight lipped smile, racking your brain on what to say next. You notice his whole demeanor has shifted and you strongly suspect that itâs your fault. Youâve never been one to accept compliments that well especially from men.
âYa know whatâŚno worries. Maybe Mikey can come another time.â He says politely, already walking backwards away from you.
âIâve only been Mikeyâs guardian for about six months now. I donât know what the hell Iâm doing.â You admit out of nowhere. Your words make Stiles freeze and you instantly wish you kept your mouth shut.
âI donât either. Trust me. Iâve just had my kid longer.â He smiles warmly.
â I can see where youâre coming from, Y/N. I guess Iâm just used to everyone knowing each other around here.â Stiles studies your reaction wondering if he should offer an idea that comes to mind. And he decides why the hell not.
âListenâŚI donât blame you for being weary about this kinda thing. Itâs better to be safe than sorry especially in todayâs day and age. But I think youâd change your mind if you got to know meâŚâ Stiles trails off.
âWell IâŚâ
âHow about you and Mikey come over for dinner? Tonight?â He cuts you off praying it doesnât make things more uncomfortable.
âHamburgers and hot dogs? And Iâll have my best friend Scott come too. Heâs going on the camping trip as well to help me with the kids.â Stiles sees you hesitate but surprisingly you agree to his suggestion.
âI canâŚâ
âHow about 7pm? Sound good? Sweet! Iâll see you there.â Stiles rambles not letting you get a word in before adorably tripping over himself as he tries to walk away. He wants to leave before you get a chance to change your mind.
âI am so in over my head with this one.â Stiles whispers to himself, he sends you a quick wink then drives off in Roscoe to go buy hamburgers and hot dogs.

The screaming coming from the right side of your bed made you jolt out of bed, Allisonâs face was bright red and wet from tears. You scoop her up and rock her, glancing at the clock. 4:27 a.m. Nice. She continues her shrieks and you slip downstairs, praying she doesnât wake Emma. You open the fridge and grab a bottle before sticking it in the microwave.
You grab the bottle as soon as itâs done, checking the warmth before sticking the nipple in her mouth. She quiets down, still making noises behind her food. You sit down at the kitchen table as she eats, rubbing your eyes.
The sound of a soft pitter-patter makes you turn around. âMommy?â Emma looks into the kitchen, her curls wild and a teddy bear under her arm.
âWhatâre you doing up, baby? Itâs late.â
âYouâre up, so is Ali.â She pads into the kitchen, sitting her bear on the table before starting her climb up the chair.
You look at her, a sarcastic look on her little face. âYouâre so much like your daddy. Thatâs not a good thing.â
She giggles and grabs her bear as you shake your head. Allison squirms around, starting to fuss again. You think of Lydia, and what sheâs missing out on. The feeling of being mother was indescribable, and you felt bad that she was missing it, and that Allison had no biological mother. Stiles told you youâd take her place and youâd be better at it, but you werenât sure if Allison would see it that way as she got older.
âMommy, Iâm thirsty.â Emma whispers. You nod and stand up, getting her sippy cup from the fridge. You hand it to her and she takes it, stopping you by holding your hand with her free one.
âEm, I need to feed Allison.â You say lowly.
She pouts, furrowing her eyebrows at you. âFine. Okay.â You shake your head and pick her up with your free arm. She takes her bear and her sippy cup with her. You sit on the couch, letting Emma snuggle into your side.
You spot the sun rising, the clock reading 6:32. You werenât sure how time had gone by so fast, or how Emma was still awake. Allison had fallen asleep but it was almost time for her to wake up.
Stiles came downstairs, his alarm had gone off at 6:30. âDid I miss something?â He raises an eyebrow, glancing at the three of you on the couch.
âYes.â You laugh, Emma jumping up to run over to Stiles. He picks her up and balances her on his hip. âAllison was crying so I got up to feed her, Emma heard me and so she got up too.â
Stiles looks at you and Allison before turning his gaze to Emma. He looks back at you, âHow long did you sleep?â
âHonestly, about two hours.â
âY/NâŚyou shouldâve gotten me up too.â
You shake your head, âYou have to work too. Iâm not going to make you go into work tired.â
âYou arenât seriously thinking of going to work are you?â He presses the button on the coffee pot and he glances at you.
âStiles, being a mom isnât an excuse to stay home.â You yawn involuntarily.
âBeing tired is. Iâll text my dad. You arenât going to work. Iâll take the girls to daycare and you can sleep.â
âSti..â You stand and shake your head.
A small smile forms on his face, âI love that. I missed it, actually.â
âWhat?â You raise an eyebrow.
âSti. Youâre the only person whoâs ever called me that.â Emma lays her head on his shoulder and he kisses her forehead.
You smile and bite your lip, trying to control it from spreading too wide. âI didnât even really think about it. Habit, I guess.â You shrug.
âWell, I like it.â He puts Emma down and she runs back over to the couch. âDo you want Allison to sleep with me?â He glances at his daughter asleep on the couch.
âNo, itâs okay. You do more at work than I do, so itâs better if I get up with her.â
âI do not do more work than you.â He shakes his head.
You walk over to him, âYou just get bigger caseloads. Plus Brady tries to run everything. Easier on me, I guess.â You shrug before grabbing to coffee cups from the cabinet.
âHe does?â Stiles watches you.
âI mean, yeahâŚheâs been there longer, itâs understandable.â
He squints at you, âNo itâs not. Youâre partners, Y/N, you arenât his assistant.â
âHe doesnât treat me like his assistant..â You lied. He does, you do coffee runs and paperwork while he does all the fieldwork and arrests.
âYou two are dating arenât you?â
âI guess. Thereâs not really a label yet.â You shrug.
âDoes he treat you like that outside of work?â He raises an eyebrow.
You shake your head, âNo. I meanâŚâ You think back to a couple occasions where heâd made demands. âNo.â
He points at you, âYou hesitated. Y/N, what the hell?â
âStiles, itâs fine.â You look up at him. Heâs fuming.
âItâs not. Itâs not fine. I know how he is, Y/N. Iâve worked with him for awhile. I didnât want to say anything because I didnât want you to think that I was lying, butâŚâ He sighs. âYouâre his fourth female partner. And the fourth one heâs dated.â
âWhat?â You look over at him, shaking your head.
âI know how he treats them, and I canât idly stand by and let you, theâŚthe lo-..mother of my child get used like that.â
âHe doesnât treat me badly, he j-â
âYet. He doesnât treat you badly yet.â
âItâs not a big deal. I promise you.â You walk over and put your hand on his forearm. âTrust me. Iâm an adult. Iâve taken care of myself and a tiny human for almost three years. Iâve got this.â
He sighs and rubs his eyes, âI just care about you. I donât want to see an ass-hat like that hurt you.â
âYou called the guy Iâm seeing an ass-hat.â You state.
âI mean, sorry for you but he is an ass-hat. Heâs not just an ass-hat, heâs an ass-accessory. Like an ass-necklace.â
âIf you donât shut up youâll have Emma saying ass-hat.â You laugh, making his laughter bubble over.
âSorry.â He grins.
You hand him a coffee cup. âDrink your coffee and go to work, you big nerd.â
You pour your coffee and hand him the carafe, laughing as you leave the room. You find Emma knelt in front of Allison, watching her little sister sleep intently. âWhatâre you doing, Emmy?â You watch her closely.
âSheâs pretty.â Emma says simply.
âShe is pretty. Sheâs very pretty.â You smile and walk over to the pair.
âWe need to get you dressed for daycare, little one.â You put your coffee down and pick Emma up. âHey, Sti, Iâm taking Emma up to get dressed. Aliâs asleep on the couch.â
âGot it!â He gives you a thumbs up and you take her upstairs.
You get the girls dressed and send them with Stiles, passing out on the couch as soon as he leaves. You wake around two, deciding to swing by the station to check on a couple cases.
You walk inside, everyone staring at you as you come in. You walk to the back, Brady getting up and leaving as soon as you enter. What the hell happened? You spot Stiles in Noahâs office and you walk back up front, slipping inside.
âOh, great. Youâre here too.â He says as you walk in, glaring at his son.
âWhat happened?â You raise an eyebrow.
âMy son here attacked Jensen at lunch.â
âStiles!â You widen your eyes.
âHe was talking about you!â He throws his arms up.
âOh my God!â You press your hand to your forehead. âWhat the hell, Stiles!â
âI guess I can tell both of you while youâre here.â Noah sighs, âHave a seat, Y/N.â
You sit beside Stiles, your mind reeling. âStiles, Iâm going to have to suspend you.â
âSuspend me?â Stiles sits forward, âDad, you canât do that!â The scene playing out before you reminds you of high school, when Stiles would call and ask if he could spent the night with you.
âI can and I am. Two months without pay.â
âWithout pay? Dad, I have two kids! You canât do that to me.â
Your jaw drops. Suspension without pay for two months?
âIâm going easy on you, Stiles. If this were anyone else they wouldâve been thrown out on their ass before they could even think about attacking another agent.â
âI donât care if this is easy or not! I have two kids! Youâre taking money from your grandkids, dad! Thatâs sick.â
âStilesâŚâ You place your hand on top of his, trying to calm him down. âItâs okay.â
â
âHow will we function, Y/N? One income and two babies?â He sighs and rubs his face. â
âI can get a second job.â You nod.â
âYouâre one hell of a father.â Stiles clenches his jaw and stands up. âI canât believe youâd leave your son without an income. Make the mother of my child think about getting a second job? Sickening.â He pushes the chair back and storms out of the office with you hot on his heels. â
âSti. Sti, calm down.â He walks quickly, making you run to keep up. âStiles.â He ignores you. âStiles, stop.ââ
He turns to face you, tears brimming his eyes, "My dad just cut four pay checks from me. Four. I canât support you guys without a paycheck, Y/N."â
"Stiles, Iâm still workingâŚwe can make a budget. I raised Emma for a year on a Subway salary. We can do it. I know we can."â
He shakes his head and sighs and you wrap your arms around him. "Weâre a team, Sti. We can make it. I promise.â
A little something for @dylanlovesthemets cuz it's her birthday!!! Happy birthday beautiful Surina <3 <3 <3
Hereâs the thing, Stiles Stilinski was a good dad.
Even his dad had admitted it with a small, teary and prideful smile.
When it came to give their baby girl her meal? Stiles always had a bottle ready, and always tested the warmth on his wrist, making sure it wasnât too hot or too cold for Emily to sip.
Patting her back to make her Burp? Stiles was a pro in The Burp scene.
Changing her diaper? Honestly, he didnât know why people always thought at it as if it were the worst nightmare that they could ever think of. He spent his teenage years, digging dirt, mud, blood and other gross-looking type of gunk out of every crack of his body â curtsey of being best friend with a werewolf, and later also being boyfriend of another werewolf â and really, if you knew how to do it properly, it wasnât that hard at all. Also, it was once he finished changing Emilyâs diaper that he found himself blowing the most raspberries on her tummy, and that was the time his beautiful daughter laughed most. So, yeah, he totally loved changing diapers.
Changing clothes? Stiles was good at that, too.
But of course, like every one, he had an Achillesâ heel. Because, you see, he was great when it came to take care of his daughter when she was awake, a whole another thing when she was asleep.
âThatâs the single most impressive thing Iâve ever seen someone do.â He sighed as walked over to his husband, and gently rubbed his daughterâs back.
Derek gave him a small, tired smile. âYou say that every time.â
âAnd itâs always true,â Stiles told him. âYou just hold her for a few seconds and sheâs already sleeping, she never falls asleep in my arms.â
Derek brushed his nose over his daughterâs forehead, and looked back at Stiles with a teasing grin, âthatâs because she knows youâre the fun parent, and she doesnât want to waste time sleeping when sheâs with you.â
âNice try, big guy.â Still, he couldnât help a small smile tugging his lips upwards, as he watched Emily happily snuggled against Derekâs chest.
âHey,â Derek nudged him, gently with his elbow. âIâm sure itâs just a phase, itâs probably her werewolf instinct that makes her want to fall asleep on me.â
Stiles hummed, then frowned and narrowed his eyes at him.
âBesides,â Derek continued, unaware of the look on Stilesâ face. âI had to be good at something, youâre good at everything else.â
âI knew it!â Stiles hissed, making him feel only slightly panicky when he saw Emily stir, but she just made a bubble and a small grunt and went right back to sleep. âYouâre a great dad, Derek Hale, donât make me start yelling all the ways youâve showed that to me, loads and loads of times.â He pointed a finger at him, âI will do it, even at risk of waking her up. Youâre more than just some werewolf-smelling pillow to her. Youâre her dad and she loves you because youâre a good dad.â He finished softly.
Derek was smiling, when he looked up. âI know, I was joking Stiles.â
âOh.â
âYeah, oh,â Derek rolled his eyes. Â âYou idiot. Youâre good dad, too.â Derek told him, leaning down to leave a soft kiss onto his nose.
Stiles scrunched it, âthat always tickles.â He smiled, âhopefully, sheâll think that too when sheâll be all grown up and actually be able to give us feedback about it.â
Derek snorted. âHopefully.â
Neither of them was a perfect parent, or perfect people for that matter, but it was okay.
They had each other, and Emily would always have them, no matter what, and as long as that didnât change, Stiles figured, itâd be okay.

âMomma, dâyou think Stiles will like my present?â Henry asked, practically bouncing off the walls with excitement as he helped me gather up the gifts by the front door. I chuckled while nodding, ruffling his soft hair.
âIâm sure heâll love it, kiddo,â I assured him. âNow, is your bag all packed?â
âYupp!â
âAlright, why donât you get your boots and coat on while I grab something to carry these in, hm?â Smiling down at my 6-year-old, I watched him nod definitively before marching to the shoe rack.
I loaded all the gifts that still needed to be transported the best I could into large garbage bags, then went to double check Henry and Iâs overnight bags. We were heading over to the Stilinskiâs for Christmas, deciding that it would be easier to wake up all together on Christmas morning instead of one of us having to load up and travel on the holiday.
It was a very family-like thing to do, spend the night on Christmas Eve, but I supposed thatâs what we had really become over the last year. A family.
âMe and Henry can put the kisses in, right?â Lily asked, practically bouncing with excitement as I moved the hot cookies onto the newspapers we had laid out on the kitchen table.
âHenry and I,â I corrected gently. âAnd yes, you two can put the kisses on top. Has your daddy finished unwrapping them yet?â I glanced over at Stiles and Henry with a playful smile just in time to catch him red-handed.
âDaddy!â Lily shrieked, seeing him pop the chocolate into his mouth as well. âThose are for Santaâs cookies!â
âIâm sure he wonât mind!â he told her, winking up at me as I laughed. With a tiny huff, Lily marched over and snatched the bowl of Hersheyâs Kisses from its place in front of her father, setting it on the other end of the table and out of his reach. âWow, drastic measures,â he pouted.
âAlright, letâs get these on here before the cookies cool,â I chuckled. Henry ran over and took his place next to Lily, the two of them working with laser-like focus to place each kiss right in the middle of every cookie while Stiles and I watched, dopey grins on both our faces.
After playing a few games with the kids, getting Santaâs cookies and milk set out, and getting them ready for bed, we were finally tucking them in.
âMomma, youâre gonna read the Christmas story, right?â Henry asked, a yawn leaving his little mouth.
âAre you kidding me? It wouldnât be Christmas Eve without it!â I went to Stilesâ room to dig through my bag, returning with the book and settling in. ââTwas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirringâŚâ
The kids were passed out long before Merry Christmas and a good night was wished to all, Stiles and I creeping out of the room and heading back downstairs. Snuggled up on the couch with an old holiday movie playing in the background, we nibbled on Santaâs cookies, my feet resting his lap while he hands idly rubbed my calves.
âWe should probably head to bed soon,â he said, stifling a yawn. âYou know theyâre gonna be up at the ass crack of dawn.â
âYeah, probably,â I chuckled, finishing off the milk in Stilesâ glass and earning a playful glare. âIâll get this cleaned up and you grab the rest of the presents?â
âSure.â After pecking my lips sweetly, Stiles got up to go locate the hiding spot for âSantaâs giftsâ while I carried our glasses to the kitchen, leaving the empty cookie plate for the kids to find in the morning. Once everything was settled and ready for tomorrow, Stiles laced his fingers through mind and led me upstairs to his room.
âIâm really glad weâre celebrating all together,â I murmured into the quiet once we had settled in, my head resting on his chest.
âI am, too,â he replied, squeezing me a little closer. âWith you and Henry here, it just feelsâŚcomplete, you know?â Looking up at him, I smiled gently.
âYeah, I really do.â
The bed was shaking from little feet excitedly jumping up and down, Lily and Henry practically screaming for Stiles and I to wake up because, âSanta came! Santa came!â Stretching lazily, I smiled and blinked my eyes open only to find Stiles burying his head under his pillow.
âDaddy, come ooooooon!â Lily whined, doing her best to shake his shoulder and only earning some sort of muffled grunt in reply. I winked at the kids before digging my fingers into Stilesâ sides, sending him into a fit of laughter. He did his best to fend me off, but it was no use as he thrashed and wiggled. Straddling his waist with the munchkins on either side of me, huge grins on all of our faces, we offered him an ultimatum.
âEither you get up and go open presents, or we keep tickling you,â I said, raising a brow. Stiles huffed playfully, finally agreeing and making Lily and Henry shriek with excitement and run out of the room, thundering down the steps toward the tree.
Stiles sat up with a groan, placing a gentle kiss to the side of my head. When I moved to get off of him, he grabbed my waist and held me in place, nuzzling my neck as I giggled.
âCome on, theyâre dying,â I chuckled.
âAlright, alright,â he sighed. âBut youâre definitely paying for that betrayal later.â His voice had taken on a deep, almost-growl, teeth nipping at my ear. I turned to give him the best seductive smile I could muster at this early of an hour.
âPromise?â
âGrampa, I wanna sit by you,â Lily said, laughing when Stilesâ father scooper her into his arms.
âOkay, kiddo. Iâll make sure you get a place next to me for dinner,â he assured her, tiny arms flinging around his neck.
âHenry, come help set the table, please!â I called, checking on the ham to make sure it was done. I could hear Stiles, Scott, and Henry playing with the new remote-control helicopters theyâd all gotten for Christmas and smiled to myself.
Laughter and conversation, the smell of home cooked food, and a feeling of family flooded the house. Overwhelmed by it all, I began to tear up as Kira and I worked on putting the finishing touches on dinner. As I went to grab a few more hot pads, I passed by the Sheriff, sniffling on my way. His hand landed on my shoulder, looking me over with concern.
âY/N, whatâs wrong?â he asked quietly. I shook my head in response, laughing a bit as I wiped at my eyes.
âNothing, itâs justâŚso great, you know? To be here with all of you and just really feel like a part of the family.â
âYou and Henry are family,â he replied, a gentle smile lighting up his face. âMy son really loves you. And your son. Iâve seen how youâve changed him over the last year, Y/N. Heâs so much happier. And I love you both, too. Youâre the daughter and the grandson I never had.â
âNoah,â I practically sobbed, my head flying to my mouth. He pulled me into a hug, smoothing his hand up and down my back. âThank you so much.â
âWhoâs ready to eat?â Kira announced loudly, prompting me to pull away from our embrace and head for my seat next to Stiles. Everyone stood at their chairs, the table set and looking beautiful, food steaming, and smiles all around. We joined hands as the Sheriff prayed, Stiles squeezing mine after the collective âAmen.â
âYou alright?â he whispered as we sat, probably noticing the faint red rings around my eyes. I nodded at him, leaning over to gently peck his lips.
âIâm perfect.â
âDinner was amazing,â Stiles said, his hip bumping mine playfully as we washed the dishes and making me smile. With all the strain my cheeks had been under from that one simple action today, it was amazing they werenât in pain.
âWell, I canât take all the credit. I had quite a bit of help.â We fell into an easy silence, working our way through the stacks of plates and platters, listening to the sounds floating from the rest of the house until Stiles finally broke our little bubble.
âIt was really great having you and Henry here. Waking up next to you, hearing the kids play, eating meals together.â
âIt was pretty nice, huh?â I agreed, shooting him a loving look. Stiles began to adamantly dry the plate he was holding, eyes trained on it in laser-like focus as he shrugged his shoulders.
âIt may be nice to be able to do that kind of stuff all the time,â he said, the nonchalance in his voice clearly strained as he bobbed his head around, his face scrunching together in that adorable Stiles way. âI donât know- I meanâŚwhat if you guys just likeâŚstayed?â
I nearly dropped the dish I was holding, eyes going wide as I froze. Stiles continued to dry the same plate despite the fact that it was clearly free of all water.
âWhat?â I asked dumbly, not quite processing what was happening. He stopped suddenly, putting everything he was holding onto the counter and turning to face me, pulling my body to his. Those chocolate eyes met mine unflinchingly, one hand coming up to rest against my cheek.
âMove in with us.â
Holy shit. Holy shit, holy shit, this is actually happening! Breathe, Y/N. Answer him!
