im a simple man in my ideal world working full time should pay enough that you can quit and take several months off to do non work things if you wanna. save up and write a novel or go travelling with no consequence. and doing this doesn't fuck up your resume because it would be normal and healthy.
Hey
*winter soldiers your Red Hood*
I normally don't like giving him the bat symbol but this is for an AU :)
genuinely if i was into neil josten i would be humiliated by it too. the man wears jorts. he's never picked up a social cue in his life and the only thing he thinks about is stick ball. he smokes but he actually doesn't and he's ginger and he's got mommy issues and the most punchable face a man has ever worn. he doesn't even pick up on any of your cool smooth lines nor does he care how sexy your car is. he's british. when you're talking he says things like 'i could draw on you with a marker' and when you're gone he says you're all that matters. andrew was right to hate him this would be a fucking devastating thing to discover about yourself.

next year james patterson is slapping his name on a book called "the secret lives of booksellers and librarians," which is real bold considering that every bookseller and librarian that i've met in my time as a bookseller and librarian absolutely loathes him. including me.
"rowan if you hate james patterson how come you know about a book of his that's coming out seven months from now?"
I Must Keep The Scope Of My Sniper Rifle Trained On The Beast At All Times
Okay, I feel the need to explain just why James Patterson is so hated by librarians.
See, it's not just that he writes mediocre, churned-out thrillers; there are many, many authors of mediocre, churned-out thrillers out there, he ain't special.
It's also not that he "writes" them with "coauthors" and slaps his name on them - again, this is not unique.
It's not even - though this is starting to get there- that he chases every publishing trend and creates His Version of everything from Diary of a Wimpy Kid to Nicholas Sparks, which nobody likes as well as they like his thrillers but still buy because they have His Name on them like a summoning charm.
No, what makes James Patterson uniquely loathed is the combination of the frequency of publication and his popularity. Because, to be honest, I'm not sure that anyone even likes his books anymore, but it doesn't matter, because if they have the James Patterson name on them then readers will be queuing up like zombies desperate for a fix of decaying cerebral matter. Which would be tolerable if he had the decency to only write one book a year like most other bestselling authors, but "James Patterson" (quotes VERY intentional) puts out roughly two books per month. So as a librarian, not only do you have to buy every new book James Patterson puts out, you have to buy multiple copies in order to fulfill demand. Somewhere around 5% of my fiction budget is spent ENTIRELY ON JAMES PATTERSON. Every new James Patterson that comes out means a dozen or more queer romances, inventive sci-fi novellas, unique cultural viewpoints, etc, etc that you can't buy because YOU HAVE TO BUY JAMES PATTERSON INSTEAD. (See also, you just weeded and shifted the Ps in fiction to make room and now it's full again oh god why.)
And the clincher - the absolute clincher - is the knowledge that the publishers will be "finding" "unfinished manuscripts" by "James Patterson" for a minimum of fifty years after his death, so even if some right-minded bibliophile with a claymore takes one for the team, we will never, ever be free.
And that is why we hate James Patterson.
I was wondering about this when i saw the first version of this post
childhood friends to complete strangers
“whatever the fuck these two characters had going on” is a vastly underrated character dynamic
“Weird about each other” is how I’ve always put it. It’s my favorite thing.
think i wanna get beat up w/ aftercare so i can experience someone feeling remorse for treating me badly
I love this post especially the rat part
going on me feed
what do you mean there are exactly zero rats i. this post

Have a great weekend 😀
forever impressed by people who when they're hyperfixating on a media or character come up with complex headcanons and analysis and make up scenarios with them. all my brain does is this for days on end
(scrolling past several gifsets of the same movie) using my keen senses of deduction i can conclude that mutual watched a movie today

there you are btw. you go away when you go home. also nobody will take you seriously if you learn french with a southern accent. but i’m not learning french for anyone but you? anyways you and me against the world. did you know a blank check is a dangerous thing to offer? i can afford it. how a man so warm survived in such a cold place, i don’t know. favorite color? brown. like the gaze that sought me out in every room, but i cannot think about that too long. focus on the important thing! i am. getting kicked in the chest would be less painful. tell me the phrase. even food would not sate this gnawing hunger every time he looks at me btw. also it makes you more interesting. no, not your capacity for unkindness, but how fiercely you fight against it. so i will choose you every time. i’m not sorry. i will lose them all if i must. you. every time.

nothing is worse than realizing you shouldn’t have told someone so much.
