We all know how protective Hotch is of his team and especially his familyÂ
When Jack started dating, he was worried but not as much as he was when he found out his little girl was.Â
You were on the phone with your s/o when Hotch walked inÂ
“Who are you talking to y/n?”Â
“Um this is (s/o’s name)”Â
“Nice to meet you, are you guys friends from school or?” he askedÂ
Before you could say anything, they said “no sir, I'm dating your daughter”Â
Hotch looked like he saw a ghost, he kindly asked you to get off the phone so you guys could talk
And the questions started
“Are they in school?”
And finally “so, why don’t you invite them over for dinner?”Â
The day comes when your s/o comes over for dinnerÂ
Hotch opened the door and greeted them, he wanted to approach this with an opened mindÂ
Dinner wasn’t as awkward as you thoughtÂ
Your father was still extremely over protective and made it very clear that you two need to be careful and safeÂ
He meant safe in general, not in the birds and bees wayÂ
Well he meant it like that too but he wasn’t going to embarrass you in front of themÂ
After they left, you and Hotch were in the kitchen tidying upÂ
“Hm?” he asked as he washed the dishesÂ
“What do you think?”Â
“I like them, they seem sweet.”Â
You were so pleased to hear that, it was like a weight was lifted off your shoulders now that your father knew.Â
Derek had always been mister macho man but he had a soft spot for 3 things
And of course you, his pride and joyÂ
You had told your mother about your s/o weeks agoÂ
Your dad had been out on cases so you hadn't had time to update him on your love life
You thought he would be away on a case for another day or two so you invited your s/o over to the house
Your mom was working late so it was just the two of youÂ
She left money for you to buy dinner for you two, which you didÂ
You were on the couch cuddling and you know how it goesÂ
One thing led to next and you're on top of them making out
You didn’t even hear the door unlock or your dad walk into the living roomÂ
Your s/o leaned over the couch “Hi, you must be Derek, her dad.”Â
“Yeah, who are you and why are you in my house?”

“You, out now” he pointed at your s/oÂ

The two of you walked to the kitchenÂ
All the details even though you knew he’d ask your aunt Penelope to run a background check
He calmed down and went outside to talk to themÂ
When they came in, they were laughing
Your two favourite people were getting along and this and made you very happy
You were at the library working on a project with your s/o for class
you told your dad that you would be home late and not to wait upÂ
The last thing you expected him to do was show up at the libraryÂ
Where you and your s/o were most definitely not studyingÂ
The two of you were sat at the back of the liberty making outÂ
It was late and no one was in there except you and the librarianÂ
You didn’t expect your father to find you making out with someoneÂ
“Y/n? I thought you had a project ?”Â
“Dad? I thought you were working?”Â
“Who’s this?” he smiled at your friendÂ
“Hi Dr. Reid, I'm (s/o’s name) y/n and I are dating”Â
“Oh.. well um it’s nice to meet you”Â
He sat across the table from you guysÂ
“How did you guys meet?”Â
So you explained the story to himÂ
“That’s sweet, do you guys need help with your project ?”Â
He spun the paper around towards himÂ
“This is blank... this is due when?” your dad askedÂ
The 3 of you stayed at the library working until they kicked you outÂ
Then y’all headed back your house to finish the projectÂ
You all ended up pulling an all nighter
Spencer made you guys breakfast before you headed to school for the dayÂ
Not a bad first meeting between your dad and your boyfriend
You were waiting for your mom to come pick you upÂ
You were outside with your s/oÂ
They were hugging you and kissing you
You stepped away from your s/oÂ
“Dad? I thought mom was picking me up”Â

You said goodbye to your s/o and got in the car

So tomorrow came and your s/o came overÂ

They told Luke about their job
Their were going to school
Their plans after schoolÂ

He was pretty chill when you went out with friends
But dating was a whole different storyÂ
He accidentally met your s/oÂ
The two of you were on a date and you didn’t tell your dad where you were going
He came to the mall to get something and bumped into you guysÂ
Your s/o didn’t realize that Matt was your father and proceeded to kiss you in front of himÂ
It’s needless to say that you got dragged home by your fatherÂ
He flipped on you because he had always had rules for datingÂ
The first one was to tell him so he knows you’re safe
 But you knew it was so Garcia could run a background checkÂ
You explained that there was nothing to knowÂ
You guys ended up fightingÂ
Eventually he cooled off and came to talk to youÂ
He told you that he's sorry for freaking outÂ
He suggested that you invite them over for dinnerÂ
You invited them over for dinnerÂ
You were freaking out because you were worried that it would be weird or not good enoughÂ
Your dad told you to relax and let him take the lead
Which stressed you out even more
Matt asked for basic information, nothing too scaryÂ
You knew he’d definitely be going to Garcia after dinner for the full blown informationÂ
He seem to like them which made you happyÂ
He was never one to hide his emotions and he didn’t say otherwiseÂ
