Cobh, Ireland, 16 km southeast of Cork, was an important trading center in the 19th century and a major British deep water naval base until the 1930s. Today Cobn has Ireland's only dedicated cruise terminal.

Leixões Cruise Terminal by Luís Pedro Silva Arquitecto in #matosinhos #portugal / 2015. Enchanted by the jetty's curve and by this intermediary commitment and role, it enlaces the curved blades generating and prolonging itself in the form of 3 main exterior tentacles and a fourth falling inwards, in an helical ramp connecting the internal functions within a quadruple height space. The unrolled exterior arms lead the investigators level to the seaside and the departure level to the cruise gangway or to the elevated walkway towards the beach and Matosinhos city. Day 80: In the Port of Hong Kong. Queen Mary 2 spent 2 days in Hong Kong where a sister Cunard ship was berthed alongside us, the Queen Elizabeth (on the front picture). Cunard had also organised for all the Full world voyage passengers travelling on both ships a black tie Gala event at the Kerry Hotel with espectacular views of the city at night. I have to say I was very impressed and felt quite privileged to be at this venue. It turned out to be a very special evening, with lovely food, wine flowing at all times, life music and performances and excellent company.
