[ 42 ] SWIPE LEFT ⬅️⬅️⬅️ / DROOP / / DERT Lab / D + R / . Droop is an intersection between an Umbrella & a Pavilion. The form is inspired from the morning plant, where it slightly droops just enough to show elegance in it's curves, covered in dew drops. The dew drops here are the extruded subdivisions on the surface of DROOP. Each of these "dew drops" are coated in TiO2 ( Titanium Dioxide ) which primarily cleans the neighbouring air particles ( cleaner air around it ) as well as clean itself ( TiO2 is hydrophillic, hence attracts water and accumalates enough water & gather enough surface tension to move over the panels and clean themselves ). . [ 41 ] SWIPE LEFT ⬅️⬅️⬅️ / LOTUS / / DERT Lab / D + R / . Lotus is a structure centric Public space Art Installation, concieved as a design proposal to @burningman . The form was conceptualized questioning the various extremities of Burning Man, in this case, we looked at the extremities of Dry & Wet > Dry Desert & Wet > Dry Desert & a Lotus in a pond ( seems like it's floating on the surface ). Also, an installation where people could climb and interact with the installation ( Structural members ). The rigidity of the structure fused with the organic fluidity of the recursive rotational extrusions seem to exemplify the extremities of the Burning Man itself. . Form exploration thanks to @ekim.royrp 's pufferfish! 🙂. . A major inspiration to propose an installation for Burning Man was seeing @bjarkeingels pictures from Burning man 🙂.
