Piped Pattern Wedding Cake by Becky Colletti Via Flickr: This cake was for a gorgeous wedding yesterday at Angmering Manor, West Sussex Deep aubergine piped swirls and flowers, with some sugar Callas to match the bouquet. I based the design on embroidery from the bride's Alfred Angelo wedding dress, which was also purple. Extra deep 5" tiers, and the flavours were: 6" & 7" Vanilla Cakes with vanilla buttercream & raspberry preserve filling 8" Rich Fruit Cake

When this couple married on New Year's Eve I made their wedding cake, with the design based around the Art Deco pattern on their invitations www.flickr.com/photos/consumedbycake/4257227713/in/set-72... The groom got in touch a few weeks ago and asked if I would make a replica of the top tier as a birthday cake for his bride - their first birthday celebrated as husband & wife. Awwwwww! We agreed on a more summery colourscheme for this birthday cake, and it was lemon cake, filled with homemade lemon curd & zingy lemon buttercream
