Ikael looks down, squeezing his fingers. “Um,” he says, “I-I… have… never actually been in love!”
He wrinkles his nose as he thinks. When he speaks, his voice is careful. “I think… that maybe for normal people romantic love is when they want to,” He pinches his hands and hits them together a few times in what he seems to think is an approximation of kissing, “kiss on the mouth instead of on the rest of their face? And then one day they meet someone and they get a stomach ache, like they just ate food their tummy didn’t agree with!”
He shrugs, splaying his fingers wide before tugging at his ear. “I never kiss someone on the mouth if I don’t plan on sleeping with them. The good kind of kisses are the dirty ones, right?”
He winks.
Ikael is aromantic, although he doesn’t know it. While he’s never found himself “waiting for the right person,” he’s found plenty of people he would be happy to spend just an evening with. Sometimes this can lead to… complications and uncomfortableness in any long-term relationship, so he tends to avoid those. As long as he and his partner want the same thing, he is happy.
