I would like if people truly understood how variable grammatical traditions are. Like, Classical Arabic/MSA has it's own way to describe grammar, so does Tamizh, Chinese, Sankrit, Japanese, Maori, etc. Like, world building built into discriptions of grammar. But that's a whole rabbit hole, I fear.
So, I've decided on certain things, I need to work out some Ideas. You can use them, but must add your own spin; I want creativity, people.
Firstly, there are 7 vowels in the proto-lang,
*a, *i, *u₁, *u₂, *o₁, *o₂, and *a, with long versions for each. *u₁, and *o₁ are the certain back vowels, i.e. in all descendents, they'll be back. While *u₂, and *o₂ are uncertain, they might be front, central or back depending on the descendant.
The Phonology is this:
Voiceless: *p, *t, *č, *k, *Q
Voiced: *b, *d, *ž, *g
Nasal: *m, *n
Fricatives: *s, *š, *x, *H,
Liquids: *l, *w, *y
A syllable can of the forms, V, CV, CVC(when V is short). Only voiceless obstruents are permitted as codas. If a coda proceeds another obstruent, It can become Q, or H. Q and H can't be onsets, of word final codas. They come when a coda stop proceeds another consotant (for Q) or when a coda fricative proceeds another consonant (for H).
The Bahudic language (Classic:baḥ-wad ṯan-tij, Vulgar:pa’ut tʰāti’ marsh-land language) is spoken in the Nibsud region of my conworld, The Refuge(name in progress). It is slightly inspired by ancient Egyptian, but has influences of other languages.
In world, Bahudic is a language of the classics, influencing many nearby languages. It (Classical Bahudic) is a common language of literature, and administration. There are various different standards of pronouncing it.
Bahudic is divided into three stages: Early Kingdom Bahudic, Middle Kingdom Bahudic, Late Kingdom Bahudic, and vulgar Bahudic(s). This post will be on classical Bahudic. It is a literary form of Middle Kingdom Bahudic, attested in the city of Bahud.
The Phonology of Classical Bahudic is as follows:
Consonants:
Fortis: p, t, ṯ¹, k
Lenis: b, d, ḏ², g
Nasals: m, n
Fricatives: s, ḥ³, h⁴
tap/flap: r
Liquids: l, j, w
1 : It was probably /cʰ/, but in modern liturgies, it is /tʰ/ (Bahudic standard), or /kʰ/ (Sahidic Standard)
2: It was probably /c/, but in modern liturgies, it is /t/ (Bahudic standard), or /k/ (Sahidic Standard)
3 : probably /ħ/, but in modern liturgies, it is /ʔ/ (Bahudic standard), or /h/ (Sahidic Standard)
4 : probably /h/, but in modern liturgies, it is unpronounced (Bahudic standard), or /h/ (Sahidic Standard)
Vowels:
High: i, u
Low: a
there is length distinction. Long vowels are marked by a macron.
Sahidic Standard, rather oddly, has different set of vowels. This might be due to the fact that Sahidic lacks long vowels in general.
High: i, u
Mid: e, ə, o
Low: a
e is the Standard Bahudic short i, o is the Standard Bahudic short u, the shwa is the Bahudic short a. There is no length distinction.

In proto-Nustan(name work in progress), There were four vowels. They were *i, *e, *u, and *a + long variants. Now, the front vowels triggered palatalisation. So, *atéq became *atʲéq. Then, *e and *a merged to modern /a/ (stressed) or /ə/ (unstressed). So, *atʲéq → ətʲák ⟨atjak⟩ (uh, and q merged with k). The diphthongs, au, and ai, became the vowels e and o.
The Churric expression for 'good luck' (wishing it to someone; I hope you do well!) reflects the culture's fear of the planet's other sentient species, which is aquatic/amphibious and known to invade, pillage, and enslave the land-dwellers (tapariku).
