Mitsuba has overheard a lot of conversations through the school mirrors. Some of them involve gossip between students. Most of the time it's petty, harmless gossip. Something funny and/or funny their friend did yesterday, or this one time a teacher turned up to class in pajama pants. And the pink haired boy would laugh along.
Sometimes however, he hears them talk of a boy who yells at air, calling him a weirdo and constantly comparing him to his older brother, pointing out his lesser grades, lesser looks, and how he simply can't compare. Other times he hears boys gather in the back of the school as they talk of a girl desperate for love, saying "it's no wonder she's desperate with that figure" and only complimenting how "easy" she is. Some other times they talk of a bullied student and mocking for not just standing up for himself as if it's easy. Or of how a poor student must have been the one to steal this missing item because "clearly she needs it".
And Mitsuba doesn't think he likes gossips like those very much.
(Have you heard this rumor? They say that if you mock someone else when you think they can't hear, the boy in the mirror, who is always watching, always hearing, will steak you away and make you face all that you don't want to hear about yourself.)
