Tiara's noticed that whenever her sausages aren't octopuses her brother tends to turn out to be sick later in the day, so, whenever the sausages aren't octopuses, she has a habit of asking "Is Kou-oniichan alright?"

Fast forward all the way to post Mitsuba arc and/or post Severance

Kou is depressed and sluggish and does not have his usual energy

Tiara notices the sausages aren't octopuses

She asks "Is Kou-oniichan alright?"

And Kou has to try his damnest to not breakdown right then and there

Mei whose sketchbook is filled with drawings of Aoi and paints decorative patterns on her flower pots

Aoi who crochets a bag perfectly sized for Mei's sketchbook with compartments on the inside that can fit all her art supplies, in her favorite color too

In the summer of Nene's second year in high school, she is diagnosed with a terminal illness. She offers to read stories to the kids at the local children's hospital every afternoon in order to come to terms with it. However, it doesn't do much besides bring her spirits down. She begins to wonder if this little "project" she took on was worth it at all.

That's when she comes across Shijima -- a girl who is far along in the same illness as Nene. She's a bit of an oddball, always cooped up in her room, drawing. (And refers to Nene as an "angel.") Throughout that summer, Nene makes it her mission to figure out what Shijima is drawing -- and maybe, along the way, she comes to terms with her own fate and even experiences the summer romance that she always wanted.
