Aka n°1 on my list of the underrated/forgotten characters of Avatar ( TLA & TLOK) .
Next ones, either his fellow Rough Rhinos either the guard of Omashu.

According to the Avatar wiki, Mongke and the rest of the Rough Rhinos served under Iroh when they killed Jet's family and destroyed his town. It's not implausible that they acted under orders from Iroh when they did.
I found this while brushing up on what had happened to Jet's family, as Jet finally having a name to go with the face he remembers from that terrible day is going to play a part of the next chapter of The Break in the Bend.
But now....I'm not so sure it's only going to be Mongke that is on Jet's mind.
Because I have all the patience of a gerbil on speed, I've gotten permission from @bearsandbeansart to share this wonderful art of June and Colonel Mongke from Avatar: The Last Airbender ahead of the rest of her collection. Bet you didn't know they were a couple, but they totally are! According to, um, me. And the two fics I wrote.
