Power Cleans: 75 kgs. x 1 Sumo: 150 kgs. x 8 (rep 4 - 8 shown) Close Grip Bench: 95 kgs. 3 x 8 Uploading the lifts from the second half of the training week for a change. My right wrist still has some residual pain and discomfort from the previous week so took it easy with the power cleans. Got up to a single at 75 kgs., still significantly lower than what I was doing previously (87 kgs. range) but hopefully next week I'll feel fully recovered. Might play around with a wider grip per @picturesoffoodbarbell instruction. Sumo deadlifts are surprisingly coming along well for someone you think the sumo gods would punish for making fun of sumo all this time. Got up to 150 kgs. for a set of 8 which put my e1rm in the 400 range which is cool. Gonna measure up my heavy single sumo vs. conventional next week, a conflict not seen since Avengers: Endgame for sure. Close grip felt solid this week too, didn't feel it going fast enough to move up the top set from 95 kgs. last week but will definitely be bolder next week. I started to turn my hands out a tad so the bar sits more across the palm and it's been making these bench sets feel easier. Close Grip Bench: 100 kgs. (220 lbs.) 2 x 6 Power Cleans: 75 kgs. (165 lbs.) 2 x 3 Sumo DL's: 135 kgs. (297 lbs.) 2 x 6 Headed to S&S Bushwick early this Saturday for some early training, which I usually dread, but the amazing weather today plus the fact that the J was actually running through Brooklyn on a weekend made me look forward to going today. Got in some good lifting this morning. Power cleans felt ten times better than last week thanks to some form tips from @abigail.betsabe., managed to work my way up to 165 lbs. today for some stress free triples @ RPE 8. I like how fast the elbows shoot into place on these. Starting to warm up to sumo a bit more although I still staunchly consider myself #teamconventional 😂😂😂. I was hoping to make my way up to 308 lbs. for 6s but all the power cleaning made me feel a bit gassed out so I only was able to pull 4. So instead I settled for 297 lbs. which was fine. Working on keeping the knees and toes out and getting my hip as close to the bar as possible before the pull. Really liking these variations / power clean stuff Anthony is throwing in here.
