“The most fatal illusion is the settled point of view. Since life is growth and motion, a fixed point of view kills anybody who has one.”
― Brooks Atkinson
Currently my roommate is away and her elderly friend and mum are at the house, staying over. This situation sucks in and of itself; I didn’t move out to live with people’s parents. That aside, conversations that I am in no way energised to deal with tonight that have occurred are:
- OMG there’s Halal in everything these days. Despicable. I try to avoid everything with it in - but even Cadbury has it? The world is going insane.
- UGH did you hear? Tasmania just passed a bill saying gender is optional on birth certificates. Optional?! You’re either born a girl or a boy. You could change it later on, but this is ridiculous.
- Wow, look at that woman’s chin, so ugly. I think she got a face lift.Â
When Leo mars people can't stand closed-minded people.
Do you know any Leo mars like this? ;)
Just a thought: we should probably come up with another insult than "close-minded" to people who don't like aces. Open-mindedness isn't ALWAYS a good thing. For example, we're pretty close-minded that racism is bad, but if someone says we should be more open-minded about racism, that doesn't make it okay. We need to start being more creative
Except that we’re not “closed-minded” about racism being bad, because racism itself is a closed-minded point of view and being open-minded involves recognising closed-minded viewpoints as closed minded. Also, using insults against closed-minded people (racists, acephobes, homophobes e.t.c) isn’t really going to help our cause. As much as I think that it’s easy to insult acephobes as “stupid” and such, what they really are is ignorant and the only way to deal with ignorance is to teach. Obviously there are going to be individuals who just don’t get it, people who have racism so etched into their psyche that it’s unable to be removed (like Donald Trump) but as a rule of thumb, insulting people is only going to reinforce their beliefs that we are against them and such and it’s not really going to help. However, like I said before there are going to be people who can’t be helped and it’s really quite a complex issue. Eh, I’ve rambled on enough about this but if anyone has any input then feel free to add it in reblogs e.t.c. Also I think it’s worth mentioning that you don’t have to explain your identity to anyone, you can if you want but it’s by no means your responsibility.

Black Skinhead
Can you not see the method to Yeezy's madness? He's the one who is unafraid to shatter the mold, to ignore the outdated rules and bullshit customs that tie us down. In a world that is so terrified of change, where the previous generation deplores the present one and tries desperately to hold it in suspension on account of a mindless adherence to the self righteous and closed minded way of life they are accustomed to, I feel as if we need somebody like Kanye. Somebody who is bold and is willing to be hated and to be the object of controversy for the sake of fighting for what he believes in. He is the one to offend and is a much needed catalyst for change.
Old Paths - Poetry
Old Ways - Poetry
Old paths are oft-travelled.
Even when they should be left untrodden.
Perhaps it is the comfort that is found,
In walking upon familiar ground.
But old paths are not best simply because
We used them yesterday.
Bread gains nothing with time,
Except rot and decay.

UGH!!!!!
I just watched a video against homosexuality for this gay rights paper I'm doing.... felt like punching something afterwards. It really annoyed me to no end. Most of the reasons were totally out there and not true. It was very closed minded and rude and its on YouTube. Ok I think I'm okay now just had to rant about that.
