explaining the cockroach janta party (CJP) 🪳
ik a lot of people right now are dismissing this calling it indian gen-z trying to imitate nepal or that the gen-z doesn't know the difference between forming an internet trend and actually contesting elections. but they are wrong.
firstly stop using gen-z as an insult. we are the YOUTH of your country. we are the ones who are dealing with the consequences of your ill informed voting choices so please please shut up for a minute.
yes i am aware this might flicker out in a week or a month or merely be an anti bjp trend launched by an opposition. but what if it's not?!
the youth is desperate. we do not want to choose between the lesser of two evils anymore. we need someone who looks us in the eye and acknowledges out loud that the system is fundamentally broken.
---
let's clarify this for those unaware. as of now, the cjp cannot contest an election because they are not registered under the election commision, and the process to do that itself can take months.
infact the founder abhijeet dipke started this as a satirical political movement and had no intention of doing anything consequential until his account blew up.
as we are speaking of the founder, yes abhijeet dipke has worked for AAP before, and it is absolutely sensible and correct to be suspicious of this being merely an anti bjp gimmick. but right now, that is all this is, suspicion. i'd respect you if you wait it out to see if he is actually what he claims, and i'd respect you even if you support him from day one (or day five as it is today) while the movement is still fresh and yes seemingly directionless. the party's manifesto (from their website)
what i have collected their immediate future plans might be from reading abhijeet's interviews with news channels
fielding a candidate in bihar they are planning to test real world electoral waters by backing a candidate for the upcoming bankipur assembly election.
a nationwide youth survey as you might have seen people complaining that the founder of the account is from united states. abhijeet is planning to return to delhi, india to conduct a digital youth survey, to find what points the youth wants the party to fight for next.
a virtual gen-z national convention they are planning a massive virtual convention, to assign regional leaders and give some structure to this movement.
---
lastly i really hope this amounts to something fruitful. i hope you don't fuck it up abhijeet. i love my country too much to not help improve it.
