You use a spice paste… like a spice?

You add it to food that you want to taste like that.

Idk man it’s like asking how to use sugar. Add sugar to stuff you want sweeter.

Add chili paste to stuff you want spicy. Add curry paste to stuff you want to taste like curry. Add pesto to stuff you want to taste like basil, cheese, and pine nuts. Add ginger paste to stuff you want more gingery.

You can heat it up but you don’t have to.

I put fermented chili paste with honey and vinegar on my cucumbers, so it’s eaten cold. Sometimes I eat miso with a spoon and sometimes I’ll make it into a hot soup.

If it’s shelf stable at room temperature, it’s fine to eat uncooked. If it’s WET (like miso or chili paste) I’ll refrigerate after opening to prevent spoilage, but ill still eat it straight out of the package.
