A slow cooker chicken and dumplings recipe that will warm you up and is great for a cozy family dinner. There are lots of vegetables in the creamy chicken stew, and there are fluffy dumplings on top of it.
Ingredients: 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed. 2 cans 10.75 ounces each condensed cream of chicken soup. 2 cups chicken broth. 1 onion, finely chopped. 4 carrots, sliced. 4 celery stalks, sliced. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon dried thyme. 1 teaspoon dried parsley. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 1 cup frozen peas. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 2 teaspoons baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup milk.
Instructions: Put chicken cubes, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, chopped onion, sliced carrots, sliced celery, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme and parsley in a slow cooker. Put the lid on top and set the heat to low. Cook for 6 to 7 hours, or until the vegetables are soft and the chicken is meaty. Add the frozen peas to the slow cooker and stir them around well about 30 minutes before you serve. To make the dumpling dough, put all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and milk in a bowl and mix them together. Put spoonfuls of the dumpling dough on top of the slow cooker's chicken and vegetable mix. Add the lid and cook on high for another 30 minutes, or until the dumplings are fully cooked and have risen. Enjoy your chicken and dumplings from the slow cooker while they're still hot.
