When you make an OC, you are literally designing an entire person from scratch, and there are a lot of things that make up people.

What do they look like?

Any distinct/recognizable characteristics?

What physical characteristics do they share with their family members?

What kind of clothes do they wear? Why?

Do they wear jewelry or makeup?

Quirk

What is it?

Which parent did it come from or is it a merge of both?

Who are their family members?

What kind of relationship do they have with each other?

Where are they?

What are they doing?

Are they related to a canon character? What genetic similarities do they share? (Personally, I avoid immediate relations, since it’s harder to maintain canon compliance).

Personality

What are their key traits?

What is their motivation? Their goals? Dreams?

Do they have any unusual quirks/ticks?

Assign an Alignment (Good/Neutral/Evil and Lawful/Neutral/Chaotic).

Backstory

Where are they from?

What type of childhood did they have?

Did they have any major experiences (positive or negative)?

Do they have any major injuries? Health issues?

How did they meet the canon characters?

What is their best/worst memory?

Likes/Dislikes

Hobbies?

Things (food, movies, etc.)?

Places?

1: Origins! How did you come up with the concept for your OC?

Ahhh...so when I create an OC that I actually roleplay in a video game, I have quite a different (and possibly bizarre) way of coming up with a character concept. They’re almost a blank slate, and I start filling things in as I go along...it’s not quite as simple as that, but I’ll attempt to explain.

In terms of how she looks, I kinda pictured her as looking very 1950s-prim-and-proper before the war (including ridiculously high-maintenance hairdos) and then shifting towards a something more practical (and cutting her hair, for both practicality and symbolism!) Because y’know...this is the FO universe ;)

As for her character...I didn’t know much about who she was when I first started playing. I knew she wouldn’t be evil because I have trouble playing that kinda character. And I think a lot of her character, for me, was shaped by how I could imagine someone reacting to what happened in that vault. Grief, and guilt...yet also some hope, for Shaun. For a long time, finding Shaun was her only priority and her most dominant trait was her determination. Most of Ruby’s characterisation was influenced by her reactions to, and interactions with companions and important NPCs (both in-game, and how I imagined them).

11: Is there a place they go to in order to escape the world, the stresses of life? What’s their favourite place?

i was practicing drawing them in full bodied forms, and trying to get some nice linart to put together in the character sheets. this didn't make it in, i think i messed up his plastron and torso a bit, but it didnt turn out too bad.

Edit; here's what I mean with the anatomy being a little off;

They finished defeating the last thug, and then they whirled around to face the other turtles, who were staring at them in a stunned silence. 

“Whhhhho exactly are you, again?” the blue one said, raising a brow sligtly, gesturing with one of his katanas. 

Em fidgeted nervously with their hands for a moment, uncertain of what to say. After a moment, they nervously shuffled closer. Closer, closer- the others tensed. 

Em faltered, and raised their hands in a placating gesture. Then very very slowly, they walked up to raph. They tilted their head to look up at him. This was the right move, right? He was the leader. The guy in charge.

“What do ya want?” Raph said suspiciously. Em blinked up at him for a moment. They hesitated, the awe and excitement of staring at their big brother bubbling up inside of them. They waved at him excitedly. 

He blinked, confused. “Uhhhhh. Hi?” 

i wanted "Ika's" real name to be named Pikachu, as a joke where kirby continues sucking at naming things and thinks she looks like a pikachu, because she is yellow, and then Em doesnt know what pokemon are, so they think the name is cute- i wanted it to be something from his video games, but i dont know a lot of yellow nintendo characers other than pikachu? again, the problem of your ocs being into things you in fact are quite not into... if you happen to know any cool yellow characters from any nintendo or kirby games, please tell me! or tell me what your favorite games are from them! i need inspo, and it's not too late to update Ika's name to something a bit funnier than just 'pikachu' lol. I might make another post asking for name suggestions actually, that might be a good idea....

Some ideas ive had for maybe a new character, in the story, but like set way into the future? Idk, just playing around with stuff for fun
