I'm still so mad that so many of my sideblog posts were made with an outdated post format, but at least the new style works well. It's nice to be able to do things like have actual spacing between paragraphs without that being automatically compressed. Color-coding is cool too.
Will this be the month Riddle dares edit the culture posts that get flagged every time I touch them? Find out after this.
I'm glad I have copies on AO3 :P

New Origin of the Pixies chapter today!
Chapter 43 - âLetters and Numbersâ
Read on FFN || Read on AO3
Start from Chapter 1
---
Since Sanderson came into his adult wings last chapter, it was only a matter of time before his younger coworkers did too. Tensions rise as Longwood and Smith begin to assert their dominance, and H.P. does what he can to ensure his position as Head Pixie remains secure.
Next time we see these kids, we'll be off to war...

Very early Vice President Longwood sketchpage, circa 2016
Throwback Thursday! Early height chart / character concepts for the Pixie kids, circa 2016.
I find it amusing that I'd already started drawing Hawkins tucking away his right hand to hide an injury that still hasn't happened in canon yet, and yet this concept still predates Longwood's freckles.

Do you have any more information on the "Aspen incident" that's been mentioned in a few of your pixie fics? I'm kinda curious to find out what exactly happened but when I search the name Aspen on your blog nothing comes up
Ooh, Aspenâs fun. I worked it out and you technically have all the information you need to answer that question, but itâs all scattered across different pieces because youâre not supposed to know yet. We donât get to Aspenâs plot for a long time.
I will not give the answer directly, but I will help you out by collecting some hints in this post. Aspen is someone who was associated with some pixies in an ambiguous pre-series time period. He is not alive yet in Origin or Knots, but we will see him towards the end (in both stories). Here are some things Sanderson mentioned about him in Prompt 14, âMinionâ-Â
1)
âI havenât been forced from a gyne since the incident with Aspen.â
2)
âOur arrangement would only be temporary. But then again, so is my arrangement with the Head Pixie.â
As I stripped away my shirt, I tried to remember who had planted such treacherous thoughts in my head. Were they all mine, or were they what was left of Aspenâs influence, acting up now that I was here in the Pink Castle again, the very place where I had come to know him so well? It seemed like Aspen would have been in understandable favor of Longwood over any other figureâŚ
Here is what Longwood had to say about him in Pink and Gray:
Why does Idona like Pixies? Do other wisps like them?
Idona likes Sanderson because they used to date in school (if you can call it dating). Sanderson doesnât show her the affection sheâs looking for in a relationship, but heâs possessive of her because he sees her as a status symbol (Heâs the oldest kid and it makes him uncomfortable to see his brothers in relationships if he isnât in one⌠but it also makes him uncomfortable to kiss girls because he feels like heâs betraying Pixie values. Itâs a vicious cycle with a delicate balance).
Idona wants kisses and Sanderson doesnât, so they never stay together long. His roommate Longwood took interest in her for a while since he also thought she was pretty and he was willing to kiss her, so those two had a very brief relationship that made Sanderson flip out. Heâs fully aware that he doesnât feel comfortable kissing Idona but also dislikes it when she checks out other guys. He wants her to commit to him but he doesnât want to reciprocate.
Basically, Sanderson wants to get out of his apartment and settle down with a pretty housewife who never begrudges him for being out late or gets in his way. Heâll share a bed with you as long as you donât try to cuddle.
Idona just wants to be liked for her personality and not just tailed by the guys her mother picked out for her. Fairy society looks down on her for being a will oâ the wisp, so sheâs hesitant to trust Fairies. Pixies are also low-status, so she feels safer with them.
Longwood has a crush on a wisp named Veruka (which she doesnât reciprocate) but most wisps in general donât like Pixies. Longwood was ordered to kiss a lot of them for one of H.P.âs schemes (in the last chapters of Origin of the Pixies) and theyâre still upset about it. Sanderson will always, always leave out the fact that H.P. told him to do it if you ask him to share that story. He blatantly paints Longwood out to be a jerk whoâs trying to steal his girl and also all girls.
Later in the timeline Idona nurses Sandersonâs kids, so take that as you will.
What is Longwoodâs leadership style? In what ways is he a different boss than HP, and what are some rules that he plans to implement/erase after HPâs death?
The first thing you need to know about Longwood is that heâs very critical of the way H.P. does things. He sees him as a strong leader and respects him, but believes everything could be done better. Longwood goes along with what the boss asks him to do, though he probably wonât like it. Whenever Pixies face negative press, H.P. grunts and moves on with his life while Longwood cringes and makes apologies in the background. H.P. is just trying to get by. Longwood will be the one dealing with the consequences of his bossâs actions.
The second thing you need to know is that Longwood thinks 37-year plans are stupid. He has no interest in taking over Fairy World while Pixie World is flourishing. Ruling the stock market is enough for him.
Longwood is a pacifist. Heâs sensitive, more in touch with his emotions than H.P., but heâs no pushover. Heâs firm in his beliefs and quick to stand up for himself and his coworkers- even Sanderson. H.P. generally sees his pixies as cute but dumb while Longwood sees them as his equals he happens to be in charge of. H.P. wouldnât have been satisfied growing up as âone of many,â but Longwood is happy to slip among the crowd. H.P. rarely trusts anyone else to do things for him whereas Longwood would love to hand his duties to someone else and duck away. H.P. loves the spotlight, but Longwood thinks itâs lonely at the top.
