Marvel Comics' "Timeslide" to Foreshadow Future of Marvel Universe
Marvel Comics is continuing its tradition of foreshadowing the future of the Marvel Comics Universe with a special one-shot in December. This year's one-shot - Timeslide - hails from writer Steve Foxe and Ivan Fiorelli.
"An X-Man from the future arrives in the present with a dire warning: One of mutantkind’s most hyper-advanced foes is eating his way through time, trying to stop the X-Gene from ever evolving in the first place. Only two X-Men can stop this chronal predator from achieving his goal – if they can tolerate working together long enough. Join Bishop and Cable on a trip through futures past, present and beyond." (Marvel Comics)
Timeslide #1, featuring a cover by Kael Ngu, goes on sale on December 25, 2024.

NIGHTBREED (1990)
Oh boy, do I hate Dr. Decker. It's funny, because the original reason I watched this film is because I was so intrigued by his mask. I thought thus was going to be something like Halloween or Friday tye 13th. Boy, was I pleasantly wrong. Don't get me wrong, I love movies focused on a masked slasher, but having a film mainly focused on friendly beasts just living their life is so much cooler. There's so much world building in this film without even having that much explained vocally. Clive barker SHOWS us what Midian is and what it's about without all the unnecessary dialogue. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a Clive Barker fan. The costume and makeup designs on these freaks were amazing. I loved how each character had an entirely different look and how they were able to look both intimidating and soft. I also enjoyed the overall message of the film. Maybe the ones who look like monsters aren't really monsters at all. In fact, the monsters are usually the ones who look most normal. It was a nice commentary on race, queerness, and disability and how we as a society tend to at best exclude them and, at worst, massacre them.
