It had been a few weeks since the whole Civil War debacle... Darcy is still working at the lab in the compound with Tony.. But it seemed so empty... Half of her friends were gone.. Steve is missing, everyone is in that weird underwater jail.. Thor and Hulk are no where to be seen.. It just wasn't the same.. One day she was going through some paperwork when her phone buzzed...

Okay, so, I realize everything I’ve written so far about Captain America Civil War so far sounds really negative, but I did actually enjoy the movie. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I didn’t think I could buy certain things but tried to hold out hope as the directors for this movie did my fav MCU movie (Winter Soldier), and they did a good job with what they had to work with. (I’ve been told they were given directions for all the character plots to go in, so that was out of their hands.) It definitely doesn’t take the spot of Winter Soldier as my favorite MCU movie this far, but it was very entertaining and enjoyable, and since the reveal came late in the movie about the ‘Revenge for Deaths In Sokovia!!’ I was generally able to suspend my disbelief, though it was somewhat shaky with that State Department lady at first. Ugh, I have one more thing to rant about, but I’ll save it for a different post. This is a positive one!
I loved Black Panther. I loved that he got one of the more significant roles/themes in this movie, especially given how much is going on and that it’s the first movie he’s in, leaving nothing exterior for us to draw on.
I was totally going to call the movie out on having such a competent villain but then him leaving a trail of evidence behind, but that turned out to be another part of his plot so nicely done.
I could mostly buy Natasha’s reasons for being on Stark’s team. I’m still not 100% happy about it, but it was done probably the best it could, and her still having Steve’s back at the end of the day was huge for me. Not happy that we have no idea what happened with her though.
Loved Sam’s banter with... well... everyone.
This depiction of Spiderman was pretty great. Aunt May was... wow... okay... you’re doing that then, but Peter was great, and his enthusiasm was wonderful. Him as a PG version of Deadpool was great. I could totally see Deadpool crushing on (an older version of) this Spiderman.
Ugh, did I mention I liked Black Panther? I loved the way he moved and fought, and his voice, and he was just perf okay.
And giant Ant Man (a movie I didn’t see) segment was pretty damn hilarious.
