Imagine a scenario in which L brings B onto the Kira case without telling the Task Force that he's also a serial killer. They just pretend B is an old associate that worked with him on the Los Angeles case.
Later, they simply assume B must also be L's ex-boyfriend, because, according to Matsuda "They act exactly like those petty exes from TV Dramas." Somehow, no one can find in themselves to protest the notion.
And Matsuda is not even all that wrong.
"Ah, so you have the time to show up in person for this Kira gal, but when I try to contact you-"
"Bryan, I genuinely couldn't care less about your little hate crush on me. I have a megalomaniac to catch."
///
"Pfff. Kira this. Kira that. You guys should have seen the Los Angeles case instead."
"Please, let's concentrate on the actually challenging case, Bryan."
"Jesus, and you accuse me of hate crushes. Do you have something to confess, Ryuuzaki?"
"Well, maybe if Los Angeles had been more interesting-"
"That's it-"
Do you think that B and light would have hated each other if they met in canon? Or Can you see B developing some sort of obsession for light like he did with L ? They are both such fun characters it's a shame they have never met
Haha, it's a good and fun question! I do have a hard time picturing how they'd see each other if they met, and I think it would be extremely dependent on the circumstances.
If things were mostly the same as canon for both of them then I can't really picture Light seeing B as a good or likable person that he wants to personally associate with, based on all the violent serial killing he does. And he would probably find a lot of B's blatant attention-seeking behaviour as extremely cringey and offputting too (particularly since they were both kinda L attention-seeking with their murders... I think the odd similarities between the two of them would be especially uncomfortable to Light, and he'd definitely make a big distinction between the two of them in his mind in order to not see their actions as similar in any way). I could see Light maybe finding B potentially useful as somebody he could get on his side too though, especially if he knew about his eyes or if he had some sort of valuable info about L that Light needed at the time. So he could possibly almost treat him like another Misa or something, if he could think of a way to win B over to his side.
And I do think B could get obsessed with Light the same way he got obsessed with L if he happened to grow up in Light's shadow instead of L's too probably, yeah. Like say if they were both students at the same school growing up, and he was constantly being compared to Light in a really toxic way. I think B's very, very competitive and obsessive and arrogant and insecure, and probably prone to angrily fixating on another person who has been placed on the untouchable idol pedestal in front of him in an extreme and confused sort of way in other circumstances, too.
What if.. they were allies.. .
B/Lightâ âYou canât wear that to dinnerâ
"Beyond, you can't wear that to dinner."
Beyond pirouettes in his leather overcoat, wondering whether all the blood stains vanished after the laundry. If it were him, he would wear those crimson jewels like a trophy and let the fresh smell announcing his mighty presence - but someone with the complex of a God wouldn't appreciate it. Aah too bad, what a pain in the ass with this 'Beyond don't do that, Beyond don't do this'... As if he cares.
"Im not talking about the overcoat, of course." Light adds, an eyebrow raised to stress his impatience and arms crossed over his Armani suit. They're already terribly late because it takes a certain sociopath murder hours to put on make-up and Light doesn't want to waste more time due to Beyond's questionable clothes.
"What? Don't you like my corset?" Despite the pout creasing his features, Beyond drinks in Light's exasperation when he turns around in tiptoes once again as if posing for an invisible photographer. The natural sunset light filtering through the curtains enlightens the intricate texture of red roses flourishing around his waist, where the corset defines his shaped body in a beautiful curved line.
The man is wearing nothing but the corset and a pair of tight black jeans under the overcoat. Oh, he well planned this, didn't he? Light fights the instinct to taste Beyond's bare chest, they don't have time now and he doesn't want to see the murder's victory grin but... But Beyond reads the desire in his eyes and he takes one of Light's hand in his, guiding it to the finishing line of the corset, and brushes his silly entertainment against the surface of Light's demanding curiosity. "You're scandalous and inadequate." It's all Light whispers, expression back to dignified scorn while his fingers work on loosening the strings of the corset. His gestures are meticulous but slow, fingertips indulge on the velvet fiber of the strings and the contact brings up memories of thousands and thousands of times Beyond's hands covered in blood touched his face. His hands aren't rough nor callous, strangely the palms are smooth and soft and click in the curve of Light's cheeks as if made to caress a God's skin.
The memories fade in a distant possessive kiss before the upcoming dinner grounds them back to reality. "Wear the shirt I bought you."
"Sure, your Majesty." Beyond laughs, eyes locking with Light's for a moment as he catches his chin between his fingers. Those eyes that aren't red as his, yet they are even more cursed than a half Shinigami. "Better we don't let people know little God likes playing with fire, despite his touching view of an innocent perfect world."

Nowhere To Run
Author: @complicatedmerary For: @yeggami Pairings/Characters: LightxB (alluding to it) Light Yagami, Beyond Birthday, and a Wammy cameo Rating/Warnings: T, language, severe psychological torture, and physical violence Prompt:Â Something angsty with Light x B Authorâs notes: On the one hand, I donât like seeing Light suffer. But, on the other hand, I wanted to explore a follow up to another fic I already made, Running Out of Time. Whatever happened to Light? That question will be answered soon.
Quiet.
There was nothing but silence. It was eerie, not even the sound of breathing could be heard. Light Yagami didnât dare move, the anticipation on why he was tied on a chair was perplexing to him and destroying the tension might cost him his sanity.
Were they too meet in the afterlife, Light and B would alternate between leading a two men "L sucks and here's why" manifesto or bickering about which one managed to catch the detective's attention best.
Imagine you are B, one of the Great Detective L's successors, and you have made it your goal to be L's one unsolvable case. You even try to set yourself on fire to avoid capture, but allas...
And here comes this random a*s Japanese guy, who maybe didn't even know of L's existence until the detective tricked him on live TV. Yet he managed to not only get L extremely interested in his case, but drew him out of total anonymity and killed him, leaving the case officially unsolved by Lawliet himself. Oh, and he also might have killed YOU.
Boy, if souls could meet in Mu and B would know all of these details, their interactions would sure be something.
