bvs and the way it does lex jr is so good bc. in lex’s introduction scene you hear him talk about his father and how he didn’t really name the company after him and you kinda think, oh okay seems like this guy might not have had the best relationship with his father but he still runs his company now. sure. and ofc you’re immediately distracted by the kryptonite plot right. then he mentions him again to finch and you don’t really think much of it, it’s like. oh yeah he kinda misses his father who obviously died earlier than most people do. sure! and it’s not until like the third act that you realize, oh no his father was actually abusive, and superman is both god and the devil and so was his father and for that reason his mere existence just cannot be allowed to stand. lex’s childhood trauma is just so much of what drives him and forms his ideology and you certainly get clues leading up to his big speech but it’s not until then that you really realize the full story. it’s just very well-done storytelling imo
And it WAS so good
I saw someone mention how Batfleck was probably the kindest/most respectful to his Alfred out of all of the different portrayals and I 🥺🥺🥺
^^ that’s the tea Bruce made HIM
You got me to finally watch BvS! I enjoyed it WAY more than I expected to! You were absolutely correct about Affleck, he is now my favorite live action batman 🥰 and Eisenberg was a great Lex, I think his version works fantastically as a younger Lex that hasn't gone full serious-mode/jaded by his beef with superman. I think i held off for so long because i was already frustrated with the MCU and wasn't optimistic about DC trying to copy it, that was definitely a mistake, so thank you for talking about it so much! 🫡
SUBLIME!!!
Say what you will about BVS, it definitely wasn’t copying marvel 😅
I’m so glad you liked it and ended up watching it in the first place! See, I’m not crazy!

Batfleck always strike me as the obsessive type. And that's a trait I wish were more explored in fanfiction.
Well... In BvS, his hate for Superman starts as an obsession, a destructive one. He wants Superman dead and thats it. But in the end I wonder, after Clark's death, how would that obsession show itself?
Because now he knows Clark's actually just wants to do the right thing and has no ulterior motives for that. He's just a good guy that died protecting humanity.
So, mix that obsession with his innate guilt and there's a Bruce that won't ever let Superman out of his sight. He will always be there. Doesn't matter if Clark likes it or not.
Having said that, I want a multichapter Darkfic with obsessive/possessive Bruce and 3874973 words, thank you.
