Watercolor D&D Monsters Part 5 - Tressym
Tressyms are believed to be the creation of wizard experimentation. They're described as more intelligent than the average house cat, but not quite human level intelligent. This one however, on account of being orange, only gets two brain cells. Still more intelligent than it's orange cat cousins.
I'm sorry this one took so long. I had another completed painting I just wasn't happy with. So I completely started over from scratch.
If you're enjoying this series, consider following and let me know what monsters I should paint next! I've received a request for an elderly Kenku, and to that person I want you to know I'm working on it. And also I've learned quite a lot about how ravens age thanks to your very specific request.
If I see the word "Fallout" one more time, I'm going to fucking jump. Feel like a neglected step child at this point
Watercolor D&D Monsters Part 4 - Beholder
Look, it’s him. It’s Mr. DND himself! There is no monster more synonymous with dungeons and dragons than the Beholder. This guy was a real challenge. Whereas every other monster has very clearly defined features, the Beholder has its big eye, it’s 10 little eyes, it’s big ol’ mouth, and that’s about it. Since Beholders are reality benders and reproduce by manifesting their dreams into reality, a Beholder’s features can vary wildly. Which on the one hand is very cool because it opens up a lot of creativity. But on the other hand, can be a challenge hanging such a blank canvas to work with. I had some vague ideas of where I wanted to take him, but all the details were just hashed out as I went. I originally wanted him to be a rusty-red color, but just didn’t like how it was looking when I applied the paint, so I scrapped it and made him green instead. Below is a timelapse of the sketching and painting process.
Hope you like this Mike Wazowski looking dude! Let me know what monster I should do next. I’m debating between Kobold, Displacer Beast, or Mindflayer (but leaning towards Kobold because after this guy and the Flumph, I’m so damn tired of drawing tentacles)
Watercolor D&D Monsters Part 3 - Flumph
I got a LOT of requests to paint a Flumph in my style, so here he is. I actually didn’t know a lot about Flumphs before I did this, I never used them in a campaign before. I just knew them from their weird art in the 5e monster manual. But having done a ton of research for this painting, I see why people love them so much now. A really leaned into the jellyfish inspiration, reimagining their spikes as stingers. I also gave them a more alien, snail-like eye stalk to lean into why surface dwellers would be so uncomfortable around them.
Originally I had painted him pink because Flumphs change colors based on their emotion, pink being joy and excitement. But literally every official piece of art of them is yellow and it just didn’t look like a Flumph when he was pink. What monster should I paint next?

Time lapse of my Myconid 🍄
Think I may post more of these time lapse paintings, so let me know if that interests you
Watercolor D&D Monsters Part 2 - Myconid Sprout
I drew the owlbear yesterday and discovered this was going to be my new obsession for the next week or two. So here’s a myconid sprout, his name is Port O. Bello. So yeah, follow if you want more of these and maybe leave suggestions of what I should paint next. I’m mainly doing fantasy creatures right now.
Owlbear
Large monstrosity. Unaligned. AC 13. HP 59. Challenge rating 3
He is perfect. He is my baby. He is the reason life has meaning. I have never known true love until this very moment, I would die for him. If you say anything mean about him I will end your bloodline and also I will cry.
I want you all to know, I posted this same painting to the watercolor subreddit. Someone downvoted it? 😆 I'm not mad, but if you ever see this I have to ask, what kind of person are you? What is it about this guy that compelled you to downvote him?
I'm not angry, just very confused and a bit astonished. You can scroll if you don't like someone's art, but downvoting it? That means you STRONGLY disagreed with what I posted, and I just can't wrap around that.

Just got home from seeing Supergirl. I do not for the life of me understand how people are hating this movie so much.
I've seen some bad superhero movies and this is absolutely not one of them. I've seen people unironically comparing this to Thor: Love and Thunder. Like, did we watch the same movie??
Idk man, I feel like anytime a woman leads a superhero movie, some certain people are going to be weird about it. And the movie isn't perfect, I'd have loved to seen an art direction that's more directly inspired by Woman of Tomorrow. But beyond that? It was really good.

What becomes of the broken hearted?
Seeing Supergirl after work tomorrow and I’ve been loving Kara in MAWS season 3, I was feeling inspired 💙❤️💛
Every time I hear about a vote in the Senate, I wanna beat John Fetterman to death with my bare hands
I got a DCU theory that ties into Lanterns and Superman
Hal Jordan in the DCU is 60 years old, he's much older than most of the other heroes. Including Superman.
We know that in 2025, Superman is 30 years old based on the opening text. We don't know when exactly Hal became Green Lantern, but based on trailer footage, it seems like it's been at least 30+ years.
What are the chances that Hal Jordan has been to Krypton?
I think sometimes fans discuss the destruction of Krypton like it's ancient history, but it just happened 30 years ago. In this universe, Krypton was destroyed in the 1995. That's the same year TOY STORY was released.
I think there's a very good chance Hal knew about Krypton before it's destruction and potentially even visited the planet at one point.
Sometimes it's good to just... Float
This is an update and redraw of a piece I did about a year ago. I wanted to revisit it to celebrate the new season of My Adventures with Superman ♥️💙💛
