THE EXPLOSIVES EXPERT.   the spitfire of ashley’s slayer squad, it was buckley’s job to blow shit up or light it aflame.   while his skills weren’t often utilized in the fight itself — he mainly cleaned up, made sure the vampires stayed dead — when they were utilized, he never failed to succeed expectations.   he and ashley initially bonded over a shared sense of crude humor, though they were capable of more serious, sincere moments — and after the corps was disbanded, the two of them remained good friends, keeping in touch via postcard and phone call.

MAN WITH THE PLAN.   emmett was the mind of the squad and the third in command, below ashley, the sergeant, and james cross, their squad leader.   he played both the role of radio operator and forward observer — he was the expert communicator.   where he pointed, others would shoot.   after the corps was disbanded, he moved back to butcher hollow, kentucky, and though his relationship with ashley following morgan’s death was initially strenuous, the two have since repaired the bond.
