Today’s Danish painter is Vilhelm Lundstrøm (May 26, 1893 - 1950). He was an early example of a Danish Cubist painter, but also experimented extensively with other new styles of art. His packing crate art was seen as a huge provocation by his contemporaries, for instance. He remains one of the best Danish Modernist artists. He is known for still life compositions with jars and fruit - and for stylized female forms, such as the one shown above. In addition he also created more portrait-like canvases, such as the one shown on the wall in a stylish Danish summer-house from the 1960s (created by Finn Juhl for Georg Jensen’s managing director, Anders Hostrup-Pedersen)…

Video by @joelsartore | Watch as this ball of spines opens to reveal the face of an adorable Brandt’s hedgehog. Hedgehogs are able to completely fold in on themselves and protect their most vulnerable body parts thanks to strong back muscles that function like the strings on a drawstring pouch.
