Today’s Danish painter is Vilhelm Lundstrøm (May 26, 1893 - 1950). He was an early example of a Danish Cubist painter, but also experimented extensively with other new styles of art. His packing crate art was seen as a huge provocation by his contemporaries, for instance. He remains one of the best Danish Modernist artists. He is known for still life compositions with jars and fruit - and for stylized female forms, such as the one shown above.
