south asian languages are so underrated! i mean, i am more focused on east asia etc and i don’t think that india or another coutry of the indian subcontinent will ever become the speck of earth where i’d end up with grey hair, but i reaaally want to travel there someday! with my mum. she’s been fascinated with the indian cultures for a long time :p. also, i find the influence on southeast asia very interesting! so, language-wise... for example urdu! it’s extremely close to hindi but written with a modification of the persian alphabet which is actually a modification of the arabic alphabet and did i ever mention how much i like that script? nothing better than tibetan for me tho hehe but sooo many beautiful brahmic scripts *_* like malayalam or burmese or or or- and the fact that in india, there are two major language families?! it’s fascinating for me because i feel like comparing them to one another and also to other language families like austronesian but it sounds like nothing i’ve ever heard?? so different from everything i’m familiar with, but somehow like a mix of... well... i don’t really know haha okay one should never get me started on asian languags in general
