seperating this out into its own post
ive recently begun the herculean effort of trying to reform English spelling in a way that is more consistent and Phonetic its not perfect but perfect isnt even a consideration here the big thing is that each Digraph will only make one sound but they are allowed to double up (although in some cases i need to use irregular spelling in order to preserve the etymological connection like in Two which becomes Twu, and im not sure if i should write One as Une or Wne)
one of the other things is ive made the following Digraphs interchangeable: Ei/Ey, Au/Aw, Ou/Ow, and Ie/Ye
also a singular I will never make the Tense Ee sound you would need to use Y for that, an example of a Loanword spelled in this system would be Zucckyny, but another thing is words from French are no longer allowed to be written as they are in French so all the French Digraphs get switched out for the English ones which include the Lax Oo replacing Ou,
some irregular spellings of native English words will be fixed too like Rain and Snow becoming Rein and Snoe,
Greek Loanwords are now going to use Ck where before they used Ch, examples: Ecko, Ckrome, Tecknology, Anckor, and Acke
now the last issue is that i cant fix A, that one is just broken forever the difference between the different vowels A can make cant be fixed without making things more complicated, like i could use double Aa for the Trap vowel so Haat, Caat, Traap, but idk if i like that
OH i also decided to make H mandatory if U is Palatalizing the previous Consonant so Sugar becomes Shuger, Measure becomes Mezhure, Leisure becomes Lyzhure, Statue becomes Stachue or Staachue
some of these changes are more radical than others i must admit
also Vowels always become tense before a Velar Nasal like Ng or Nk since that was already a rule
im not gonna make any specific way of writing the Schwa because anything can be a Schwa its everywhere
(btw Tense and Lax corrospond to the old Long and Short vowels from Old and Middle English)

iy <- foolish pretender with no hat who is going to blow themself up
i'll be the greatest grammar police officer for the following days (i'll have an ortography exam tomorrow)

I uploaded an old work stream from 2019 when I was creating the Chakobsa font for Dune. It had no audio, so I never did anything with it. Today Jessie and I watched it and recorded commentary seven years on. It was fun. :)
apologies for the low quality image, but this roundabout has what I believe is a phonetic transcription on it :0
"sqʷɑliˀ wɑs̆ətəb sˀɑhidup" (those might be regular glottal stops)
ooh awesome! according to wikipedia:
The Nisqually speak a subdialect of the southern dialect of Lushootseed (called Twulshootseed), which is a Coast Salish language. In Lushootseed, their name is dxʷsqʷaliʔabš, meaning "people of the grass."
and that isn't a phonetic transcription but rather the Lushootseed orthography, which was developed in the 1950s. here's how "sqʷɑliʔ wɑs̆ətəb sʔɑhidup" is written in the IPA. it makes sense that it looks so similar, cause the Lushootseed alphabet was was adapted from the IPA.
/sqʷɑliʔ wɑʃətəb sʔɑhidup/
